logging history
Use this command to limit syslog messages saved to switch memory based on
severity. The no form returns the logging of syslog messages to the default level.
Syntax
logging history {flash | ram} level
no logging history {flash | ram}
• flash - Event history stored in flash memory (i.e., permanent memory).
• ram - Event history stored in temporary RAM (i.e., memory flushed on
power reset).
• level - One of the level arguments listed in the following table. Messages
sent include the selected level down to level 0.
Default Setting
Flash: errors (level 3 - 0)
RAM: warnings (level 7 - 0)

debugging 7 Debugging messages
informational 6 Informational messages only
notifications 5 Normal but significant condition, such as cold
start
warnings 4 Warning conditions (e.g., return false,
unexpected return)
errors 3 Error conditions (e.g., invalid input, default
used)
critical 2 Critical conditions (e.g., memory allocation, or
free memory error - resource exhausted)
alerts 1 Immediate action needed
emergencies 0 System unusable
* There are only Level 2, 5 and 6 error messages for the current firmware release.
