6.ConguringIPAddress
The IP address conguration commands for VLAN1 interface are listed below.
Before using in-band management, the L3 Managed Switch must be congured
with an IP address by out-of-band management (i.e. console mode). The
congurationcommandsareasfollows:
XGS3-24242# cong
XGS3-24242(cong)# interface vlan 1
XGS3-24242(cong-if-Vlan1)# ip address 192.168.1.254 255.255.255.0
ThepreviouscommandwouldapplythefollowsettingsfortheL3ManagedSwitch.
IPv4 Address: 192.168.1.254
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0

To check the current IP address or modify a new IP address for the L3 Managed
Switch,pleaseusetheproceduresasfollows:
 Show the current IP address
1. On “XGS3-24242(cong)#”prompt,enter“show ip interface brief”.
2.ThescreendisplaysthecurrentIPaddressshowninFigure6-2.

If the IP is successfully congured, the L3 Managed Switch will apply the new IP
address setting immediately. You can access the Web interface of L3 Managed
SwitchthroughthenewIPaddress.
