1.2 Product Description
Smart and Intuitive LCD Control (WS-2864PVR Only)
The intuitive touch panel of the WS-2864PVR with PLANET unique Smart LCD design greatly facilitates the Ethernet PoE PD
management of large-scale networks of enterprises, hotels, shopping malls, government buildings and other public areas. With
the configurable LCD control, the administrator performs IP configurations, PoE, hardware management, system status
monitoring and basic diagnostic test without logging on to the web interface, thus making the management of the system more
efficient.
Five Steps to Manage AP Cluster within Minutes
The WS switch Series offers a user-friendly Web GUI for easy configuration. It features centralized management of PLANET
Smart AP series without needing to manually configure each AP for the wireless SSID, radio band and security settings. With a
five-step configuration process, different purposes of wireless profiles can be simultaneously delivered to multiple APs or AP
groups to minimize deployment time, effort and cost.
Ideal Combination of 10G Uplink, High-density, Gigabit and Layer 3 Static Routing
PLANET WS series is a Layer 2+ managed Gigabit/10 Gigabit Ethernet switch and supports static Layer 3 routing in a 1U
case. The WS series can handle extremely large amounts of data in a secure topology linking to an enterprise backbone or high
capacity servers.
Layer 3 IPv4 and IPv6 VLAN Routing for Secure and Flexible Management
The WS series not only provides ultra high transmission performance, and excellent Layer 2 and Layer 4 technologies, but also
Layer 3 IPv4/IPv6 VLAN routing feature which allows to cross over different VLANs and different IP addresses for the purpose of
having a highly-secure, flexible management and simpler networking application.
IPv6/IPv4 Dual Stack
Supporting both IPv6 and IPv4 protocols, the WS series helps the SMBs to step in the IPv6 era with the lowest investment as its
network facilities need not to be replaced or overhauled if the IPv6 FTTx edge network is set up.
Robust Layer 2 Features
The WS series can be programmed for advanced switch management functions such as dynamic port link aggregation, Q-in-Q
VLAN, private VLAN, Multiple Spanning Tree protocol (MSTP), Layer 2 to Layer 4 QoS, bandwidth control and IGMP/MLD
Snooping. Via the link aggregation of supporting ports, the WS series allows the operation of a high-speed trunk to combine
with multiple fiber ports and supports fail-over as well.
