4.4.7 High Availability
High Availability (HA) is a redundant system that two IVR VPN Security Gateways can be set up in a
master/slave configuration. The master VPN Security Gateway provides the Internet connection but, in the
case of hardware or WAN connectivity failure, the slave (backup) VPN Security Gateway automatically takes
over Internet connection. It provides redundant hardware and software that make the system available
despite failures.
