4.2.2 IP Configurations
The IP Configuration includes the IP Address, Subnet Mask and Gateway. The configured column is used to view or change the
IP configuration. Fill out the IP Address, Subnet Mask and Gateway for the device. The screens in Figure 4-2-2 and Figure 4-2-3
appear.

The page includes the following fields:
Object Description
Mode
Indicates the IP address mode operation. Possible modes are:
Static: Set a IP address that was manually configured for a device.
This option allows user to configure each IP parameters manually,
including IP Address, Subnet Mask, Default Gateway, and DNS servers.
This is usually used in a technical environment of network users.
DHCP: Enable DHCP client mode operation.
Enable the DHCP client by checking this box. If DHCP fails and the
configured IP address is zero, DHCP will retry. If DHCP fails and the
configured IP address is non-zero, DHCP will stop and the configured IP
settings will be used. The DHCP client will announce the configured
System Name as hostname to provide DNS lookup.
IP Address
Provides the IP address of this switch in dotted decimal notation.
Subnet Mask
Provides the subnet mask of this switch in dotted decimal notation.
Gateway
Provides the IP address of the router in dotted decimal notation.
DNS Server 1/2
Provides the IP address of the DNS Server in dotted decimal notation.
