2. Requirements
The Industrial Managed Switch provides remote login interface for management
purposes.Thefollowingequipmentisnecessaryforfurthermanagement:
z Workstations running Windows 2003/2008/XP/Vista/7/8/10, MAC OS X or later,
Linux,UNIX,orotherplatformsarecompatiblewithTCP/IPProtocols.
z Serial Port Connection (Terminal)
 The above Workstations come with COM Port (DB9) or USB-to-RS232
converter.
 TheaboveWorkstationshavebeeninstalledwithterminal emulator,suchas
HyperTerminalincludedinWindowsXP/2003,puttyorTeraTerm.
 Serial cable-- one endis attached to the RS232 serial port, while the other
endtotheconsoleportoftheIndustrialManagedSwitch.
z WorkstationsareinstalledwithEthernet NIC(NetworkInterfaceCard)
z EthernetPortConnection
 Networkcables--Usestandardnetwork(UTP)cableswithRJ45connectors.
 TheabovePCisinstalledwithWeb browser.
Note
It is recommended to use Internet Explorer 8.0 or above to access
the Industrial Managed Switch. If the Web interface of the Indus-
trialManagedSwitchisnot accessible,pleaseturnoff theanti-virus
softwareorfirewallandthentryitagain.
