TheIFB-244Seriesisanindustrial-grade optical fiber bypass switch with
built-in4 duplex LC or SCconnectorsfeaturing2-channelduplexor4-channel
simplexfiberconnectionwithopticalbypassfunction.Theopticalfiberports
support 100Gbps/40Gbps/10Gbps/1Gbps/100Mbpsfiberconnections.It
automaticallyswitchesopticnetworktraffictopreventlinkfailureduringpower
loss.Italsoallowsthelocalnetworkswitchtobereplaced orremovedwithout
networkdowntime.
Optical Fiber Bypass Mechanism
TheIFB-244Seriesappliesfiber-to-fibertechnologytoachieveultra-lowlosses
andultra-fastswitchingtime.Twoofthefiberportsareusedtoconnecttotwo
remote fiber switchesandtheothertwofiberportsareusedtoconnecttothe
local fiber switch.TheIFB-244SeriesandthelocalfiberEthernetswitchare
poweredfromthesamepowersource.
Whenthesystempowerison,theIFB-244SeriesoperatesintheNormal mode
andforwardsEthernetpacketsbetweentworemotefiberswitchesandthelocal
berswitch.
Whenthesystempowerfailureoccurs,theIFB-244Seriesoperatesinthe
Bypass modethatdirectlyforwardsEthernetpacketbetweentworemotefiber
switchesandbypassthelocalberswitch.
Oncethesystempowerisrecovered,thenetworktrafficresumesoperation
betweentworemoteberswitchesandlocalberswitch.
