Thank you for purchasing PLANET 10/100/1000BASE-T
to 1000BASE-SX/LX Managed Media Converter, GT-90x.
The term “Managed Media Converter” in the following
section of this quick installation guide refers to the GT-90x.
PLANET Managed Media Converter comes with one of the

2. Requirements
The Managed Media Converter provides remote Web
interface for management; the following products are
necessary for further management.

The operating system of the subscriber PC runs Windows
XP/2003, Vista, Windows 7, MAC OS X, Linux, Fedora,
UbuntuorotherplatformcompatiblewithTCP/IPprotocols.
3. Starting Web Management
PLANET Managed Media Converter provides a built-in
browser interface. You can manage the Managed Media
Converter remotely by having a remote host with Web
browser, such asMicrosoft Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox,
Google Chrome or Apple Safari.

The following shows how to start up the Web Management
of the Managed Media Converter. Please note the Managed
Media Converter is congured through an Ethernet
connection. Make sure the manager PC must be set to
the same IP subnet address, for example, the default IP
address of the Managed Media Converter is 192.168.0.100
(the factory default IP address), then the manager PC
should be set at 192.168.0.x (where x is a number
between 1 and 254, except 100), and the default subnet
maskis255.255.255.0.
Use Internet Explorer 6.0orabove and enter the default IP
address http://192.168.0.100
AfterloadingtheWebinterface,the loginscreen appearsas
in Figure 1. To login, enter “admin” for both default user
name and password
