SYMPTOM POSSIBLE CAUSE
Although a fresh battery has been fitted, the
Etek4 will not switch on.
The battery does not seem to last very long.
The Etek4 leaks from the solenoid.
The Etek4 leaks down the barrel.
Gas vents quickly down barrel as soon as it
is gassed up.
The battery has been fitted incorrectly.
The battery connector is not making proper
contact with the battery.
The battery type is of a low quality.
Either gasket is damaged and/or not seated
correctly in its designated pocket in the
manifold body.
The Etek4 is leaking from the barbs.
LPR is supercharging causing intermittent
leaking.
Damaged or incorrect seals on rammer.
Solenoid Spool Shaft is damaged or dirty.
Damaged Etek4 solenoid.
Incorrect seal on front of rammer housing.
Dirty / damaged exhaust valve.
Dirty / damaged rammer housing.
The exhaust valve has become jammed in
the rammer housing.
Fit the battery correctly.
Remove the battery, check the battery
connector is clean and re-install the battery.
Use an alkaline or lithium battery. Do not
use a low quality or rechargeable battery.
Replace the gasket if damaged using Etek4
parts kit. Ensure the gasket is seated
correctly.
Check hose for cuts or replace barbs.
Inspect and clean regulator seal (in LPR
piston) and regulator seat (in LPR body).
Replace if necessary.
Replace seals.
Clean or replace Spool Shaft as required.
Replace Etek4 solenoid.
Replace front seals on rammer housing with
014 NBR70.
Clean / replace exhaust valve.
Clean / replace rammer housing and
o-rings.
Inspect and replace exhaust valve and
rammer housing as necessary (see
Maintenance section).
