SURROUND EDIT OPERATION (GUI OPERATION) S C Intelfigent

* If you press the SURR EDIT button on a function operation
display, display switches to "SURROUND EDIT" indications
for the currently selected surround mode. (Press the EXIT
button to return to the original function operation display.)
On the SURROUND EDIT display, you can adjust levels,
switch to the center mode, and adjust delay time.
(When using DOLBY PRO-LOGIC)
[ SETTING THE DELAY TIME J
When using DOLBY PRO-LOGIC SURROUND or SIMULATED
SURROUND, you can set the delay time between 16 ms and
30 ms (2 ms step).
The standard setting is 20ms, but you can select any setting
of your choice.
[ LEVEL ADJUSTMENT J
Example:When using DOLBY PRO-LOGIC
1. Press the CENTER MODE button to select the Center
Mode. (Refer to page 6 ) "1
NORMAL -_- WIDE _ PHANTOM
2. Press the TEST TONE button to switch the test tone
on.
The test tone is output from each of the speakers in the
following order. *2
---*Front Left -----* Center
Surround(Rear)-.-----Front Right _
3. Adjust so that the volume level isthe same from each
of the speakers.
Use the CENTER LEVEL Jr-, -- buttons to adjust the
center speaker volume level. *3
Use the REAR LEVEL 4-, -- buttons to adjust the rear
speakers volume level. *4
4. Press the TEST TONE button to switch the test tone
OFF.
NOTE:
"1 You can select the CENTERMODE when using DOLBY PRO-
LOGIC SURROUND, PRO-LOGIC THEATERand DOLBY 3CH
LOGIC.
When using DOLBY 3CH LOGIC, you can switch between
NORMAL and WIDEsettings.
*2 Whenthe CENTERMODE button is PHANTOMposition, no test
tone is output from the center speaker.
*3 Only when using DOLBYPRO-LOGICSURROUNDand DOLBY
3CH LOGIC can you adjust the CENTERLEVEL.
*4 When using DOLBY 3CH LOGIC, the REAR speakers are not
used.
