6. Then use the remotes POWER OFF button and the dvd should close the

(empty) tray

7. Restart the unit, put in a region disc and it should play it!

2. Press CLEAR, 2, 5, 8, CLEAR

3. The service menu will then come up.

4. Enter the region you want (0 = multi-region)

1. Turn on the player

2. Open the disc tray

3. Press 3, 3, 0, 8, 0

4. "XXXX" is displayed.

5. Enter the region (0 = multi-region)

6. Close the disc tray

7. Turn it off

Akai ADV-8000 / ADV-8175 / DV-P2500 / DVP-8000

1. Turn on the player (without disc inserted)

2. Press 8, 9, 2, 6, X (X = region; 0 = multi-region)

1. Open the disc tray

2. Press 8, 4, 2, 1

3. A menu should appear. (9 = multi-region)

1. Turn on the player (without a disc inserted)

2. Press STOP

3. Press 1, 9, 9, 9

4. Current region is displayed

5. Select "Region Code"

6. Press ENTER

7. Select region using UP/DOWN ("Free" = multi-region)

8. Press ENTER
