Getting Started Switching Let's Get Started on After making sure that everything is connected properly and that the player is plugged in, press • STANDBY/ON on the front panel, or on the remote control to switch the player on. Also, switch on your TV and make sure that it is set to the input you connected the DVD player to. When you switch on the player for the first time, you should see a welcome screen displayed on your TV.

Additional Information Taking care of your player and discs Handling discs When holding discs of any type, take care not to leave fingerprints, dirt or scratches on the disc surface. Hold the disc by its edge or by the center hole and edge. Damaged or dirty discs can affect playback performance. Take care also not to scratch the label side of the disc. Although not as fragile as the recorded side, scratches can still result in a disc becoming unusable.
