2 Preparation Regional Code Certain System Requirements This unit has a regional code printed on the rear of the unit. This unit can play only BD-ROM or DVD discs labeled same as the rear of the unit or “ALL”. For high definition video playback: AVCHD (Advanced Video Codec High Definition) Preparation • This player can playback AVCHD format discs. These discs are normally recorded and used in camcorders. • The AVCHD format is a high definition digital video camera format.

Installation Wall mounting the speakers Before mounting Remember that the speaker system is heavy and that its weight could cause the screws to work loose, or the wall material to fail to support it, resulting in the speaker falling. Make sure that the wall you intend to mount the speakers on is strong enough to support them. Do not mount on plywood or soft surface walls. Attaching the speakers The front speaker can be hung vertically or horizontally on the wall.
Installation 19 Additional notes on speaker Install the main front left and right speakers at an equal distance from the TV. B A Precautions: Make sure that all the bare speaker wire is twisted together and inserted fully into the speaker terminal. If any of the bare speaker wire touches the back panel it may cause the power to cut off as a safety measure. The subwoofer is not magnetically shielded and so should not be placed near a TV or monitor.

Connect the HDMI OUT jack on the player to the HDMI IN jack on a HDMI compatible TV or monitor.
Installation NOTE • Changing the resolution when the connection has already been established may result in malfunctions. To solve the problem, turn off the player and then turn it on again. • When the HDMI connection with HDCP is not verified, TV screen is changed to black screen. In this case, check the HDMI connection, or disconnect the HDMI cable. • If there is noise or lines on the screen, please check the HDMI cable (length is generally limited to 4.5 m and use a high speed HDMI cable (version 1.3).

If there is a DHCP server on the local area network (LAN) via wired connection, this player will automatically be allocated an IP address. After making the physical connection, a small number of home networks may require the player’s network setting to be adjusted. Adjust the [NETWORK] setting as follows. 3 1.
Installation Notes on Network Connection: • Many network connection problems during set up can often be fixed by re-setting the router or modem. After connecting the player to the home network, quickly power off and/or disconnect the power cable of the home network router or cable modem. Then power on and/or connect the power cable again. Depending on the internet service provider (ISP), the number of devices that can receive internet service may be limited by the applicable terms of service.
Installation USB device connection This player can play movie, music and photo files contained in the USB device. 1. Insert a USB device to the USB port until it fits into place. Installation 1080p Display Mode [LANGUAGE] Menu When the resolution is set to 1080p, select [24 Hz] for smooth presentation of film material (1080p/ 24 Hz) with a HDMI-equipped display compatible with 1080p/ 24 Hz input. Display Menu NOTE • When you select [24 Hz], you may experience some picture disturbance when the video switches video and film material. In this case, select [50 Hz]. HDMI Color Setting Select the type of output from the HDMI OUT jack.
Installation [AUDIO] Menu Speaker Setup To obtain the best possible sound, use the speaker setup display to specify the volume of the speakers you have connected and their distance from your listening position. Use the test to adjust the volume of the speakers to the same level. HD AV Sync Sometimes Digital TV encounters a delay between picture and sound.
Installation [LOCK] Menu To access any features in the [LOCK] settings, you must enter the 4-digit security code you have created. If you have not entered a password yet, you are prompted to do so. Enter a 4-digit password twice, and press ENTER ( ) to create a new password. Password 35 DVD Rating Blocks playback of rated DVD based on their content. (Not all discs are rated.) Installation Auto Power Off The screen saver appears when you leave the player in Stop mode for about five minutes. If you set this option to [On], the unit automatically turns itself off after the Screen Saver is displayed for 25 minutes. Select the [Time] option and then input the required start time in hours, minutes, and seconds from left to right. For example, to find a scene at 2 hours, 10 minutes, and 20 seconds, enter “21020”.
Operation Watching from a different angle Changing the Picture Mode If the disc contains scenes recorded at different camera angles, you can change to a different camera angle during playback. Operation Enjoying BD-LIVE This unit allows you to enjoy functions such as picture-in-picture, secondary audio and Virtual packages, etc., with BD-Video supporting BONUSVIEW (BD-ROM version 2 Profile 1 version 1.1/ Final Standard Profile). Secondary video and audio can be played from a disc compatible with the picture-in-picture function. For the playback method, refer to the instructions in the disc.
Operation Playing movie file and VR discs NOTE • The file requirements are described on page 11. • You can use various playback functions. Refer to pages 38-44. You can play DVD-RW discs that are recorded in Video Recording (VR) format and movie files contained in a disc or USB device. 1. Press HOME MENU. • Unfinalized DVD VR format discs may not be played in this player. • Some DVD-VR disc are made with CPRM data by DVD recorder. This unit cannot support these kinds of discs.
Operation Selecting a subtitle file Changing subtitle code page If a movie file name and the subtitle file name are the same, subtitle file is played automatically when playing the movie file. If the subtitle is not displayed properly, You can change the subtitle code page to view the subtitle file properly. If the subtitle file name is different with the movie file name, you need to select the subtitle file on the [Movie] menu before playing the movie. 1.

Operation Enjoying the iPod IN mode You can operate your iPod by using the supplied remote control and controls on your iPod. 1. Connect the iPod firmly. If you turn this unit on, your iPod is automatically turned on and recharging starts. 2. Press INPUT/TUNER to select iPod IN mode. U/u/I/i Selects an option in the menu. Operation Radio Operations 55 Deleting all the saved stations Press and hold CLEAR for two seconds. “ERASE ALL” will flash up. Press CLEAR again. Then all the saved stations are deleted. If you need to ship the unit, for maximum protection, re-pack the unit as it was originally packed at the factory. Never stick paper or tape on the disc. Troubleshooting 61 6 Troubleshooting General • Plug the power cord into the wall outlet securely. The unit does not start playback. • Insert a playable disc. (Check the disc type, colour system, and regional code.) • Place the disc with the playback side down. • Place the disc on the disc tray correctly inside the guide. • Clean the disc. • Cancel the rating function or change the rating level. The angle cannot be changed. • Multi-angles are not recorded on the DVD Video being played.
Troubleshooting Picture There is no picture. Picture noise appears • Select the appropriate video input mode on the TV so the picture from the unit appears on the TV screen. • Connect the video connection securely. • Check the [HDMI Color Setting] in the [Setup] menu is set to the appropriate item that conforms to your video connection. • Your TV may not support the resolution you have set on the player. Change the resolution to one that your TV accepts.
Troubleshooting 63 Network BD-LIVE feature does not work. • The connected USB storage may not have enough space. Connect the USB storage with at least 1GB free space. • Ensure that the unit is correctly connected to the local area network and can access the internet (see page 27). • Your broadband speed may not be fast enough to use the BD-LIVE features. Contact your Internet Service Provider (ISP) and increase the broadband speed to suit the unit’s.

Faites en sorte que le mur sur lequel vous voulez monter les haut-parleurs est suffisamment solide pour les supporter. Ne les posez pas sur les murs en contre-plaqué ou à surface meuble.

28 Montage Netzwerkeinstellungen Vor der Einrichtung des Kabel-Netzwerks muss eine Breitband-Internetverbindung zum Heimnetzwerk hergestellt werden. Falls das kabelgebundene lokale Netzwerk (LAN) einen DHCP-Server besitzt, wird dem Player automatisch eine IP-Adresse zugewiesen. Disc richtig in die Mulde im Disc-Fach einlegen. • Die Disc reinigen. • Einstufung aufheben oder Freigabestufe ändern. Der Kamerawinkel kann nicht geändert werden.

Verzerrtes Bild. • Wählen Sie den richtigen Video-Eingangsmodus des Fernsehers, so dass das Bild des Gerätes angezeigt wird. • Videokabel fest anschließen. • Überprüfen Sie, ob für die Option [HDMI-Farbeinst.] im Menü [Setup] eine geeignete Einstellung vorgenommen wurde, die dem Videoanschluss entspricht. • Falls Ihr Fernsehgerät die am Player eingestellte Auflösung nicht unterstützt, wählen Sie eine vom Fernsehgerät unterstützte Auflösung.
Störungsbehebung 63 Netzwerk Die BD-LIVE-Funktion ist nicht möglich. • Auf dem angeschlossenen USB-Speichergerät ist nicht genügend Speicher verfügbar. Schließen Sie ein USBSpeichergerät mit mindestens 1 GB freiem Speicher an. • Stellen Sie sicher, dass das Gerät richtig mit dem lokalen Netzwerk verbunden und auf das Internet zugreifen kann (siehe Seite 27). • Die Breitbandgeschwindigkeit ist zur Nutzung von BDLIVE-Funktionen nicht schnell genug.

18 Installazione Montare gli altoparlanti alla parete Prima del montaggio 3 Tenere presente che il sistema di altoparlanti è pesante e che il suo peso potrebbe causare l’allentamento delle viti o potrebbe non essere retto dal materiale della parete, con conseguente caduta dell’altoparlante. Assicurarsi che la parete su cui si intendono montare gli altoparlanti sia abbastanza resistente da sostenerli. Non montare su compensato o pareti con superfici morbide.

Installazione NOTA • La modifica della risoluzione quando la connessione è già stata stabilita può avere un cattivo funzionamento come risultato. Per risolvere il problema, spegnere i lettore e quindi riaccenderlo. • Se la connessione HDMI con HDCP non è verificata, lo schermo TV diviene nero. In questo caso, controllare la connessione HDMI, oppure scollegare il cavo HDMI.

Installazione Collegamento Bluetooth® Informazioni sul Bluetooth Bluetooth® è una tecnologia di comunicazione wireless per collegamenti a breve raggio. L’intervallo supportato è entro i 10 metri (se il collegamento subisce interferenze da parte di altre onde elettromagnetiche o si collega il Bluetooth in altre stanze, l’audio potrebbe interrompersi). Il collegamento di singoli dispositivi tramite la tecnologia Bluetooth non comporta alcun costo.

Se sulla rete locale (LAN) è presente un server DHCP tramite connessione cablata, questo lettore riceverà allocato automaticamente un indirizzo IP. Dopo avere eseguito la connessione fisica, un certo numero di reti locali può richiedere una regolazione delle impostazioni di rete del lettore. Regolare le impostazioni di rete [RETE] come segue. 3 Installazione 1.
Installazione Note relative alla connessione di rete: • • Molti problemi di connessione di rete durate la configurazione possono essere risolti eseguendo un reset del router o modem. 18 Installeren Bevestiging van de luidsprekers aan de wand Voorafgaande aan de montage 3 Bedenk dat het luidsprekersysteem zwaar is en dat door het gewicht de schroeven los kunnen gaan zitten, en het is tevens mogelijk dat het ondersteunende wandmateriaal het systeem niet houdt en de luidspreker valt. Let erop dat de wand waaraan de luidsprekers worden bevestigd stevig genoeg is om ze te ondersteunen. Bevestig de luidsprekers niet op triplex of aan wanden die niet stevig genoeg zijn.
Installeren Enkele opmerkingen over de plaatsing van de luidspreker uitzondering van de subwoofer – op dezelfde afstand van uw luisterpositie (A) te plaatsen. Installeer de luidsprekers linksvoor en rechtsvoor op gelijke afstand van de televisie. Voorzorgsmaatregelen: B A Bevestig de subwoofer niet aan een wand of het plafond. Mogelijk vallen ze eraf en kunnen letsel veroorzaken. Het systeem opstellen De volgende afbeelding toont een voorbeeld van de opstelling van een systeem.

Installeren LET OP • Er kunnen foutmeldingen ontstaan als u de resolutie wijzigt terwijl de aansluiting reeds gemaakt is. Om het probleem op te lossen, schakelt u de speler uit en weer in. • Indien de HDMI aansluiting met HDCP niet geverifieerd is, wordt het TV scherm gewijzigd in een zwart scherm. In dat geval controleert u de HDMI-aansluiting, of koppelt u de HDMI-kabel los.
22 Installeren Videoverbinding Resolutie instellen Sluit de VIDEO UIT stekkerbus van de speler aan op de video in ingang van de tv. Gebruik hiervoor een videokabel. U kunt het geluid via de luidspreker van het systeem weergeven. De speler voorziet in verschillende uitvoerresoluties voor HDMI en COMPONENT VIDEO uitgangen. U kunt de resolutie aanpassen in het [Instellen]-menu. 1. Druk op HOME MENU ( Videoverbinding ). 2. Gebruik I/i/U/u om [Instellen] te selecteren en druk op ENTER ( ).
Installeren Antenneaansluiting Sluit voor de ontvangst van radio-uitzendingen de meegeleverde antenne aan. Antenneaansluiting 23 Op een extern apparaat aansluiten AUX-aansluiting U kunt het geluid van een component weergeven met gebruikmaking van de analoge audio-uitgangen van de luidsprekers van het systeem. AUX-aansluiting 3 Installeren Sluit de analoge audio-uitgangen van de component aan op de AUX L/R (INGANG) van het hoofdapparaat.
24 Installeren PORTABLE IN-aansluiting OPTICAL IN 1/2-aansluiting U kunt ook het geluid van uw draagbare audioapparaten via de luidsprekers van het systeem weergeven. U kunt het geluid van componenten ook via de digitale optische aansluiting van de luidsprekers van het systeem weergeven. Sluit de hoofdtelefoon- of lijnuitgang van de draagbare audiospeler aan op de PORT INaansluiting van het hoofdapparaat.
Installeren Bluetooth® aansluiting Informatie over Bluetooth Bluetooth® is een draadloze communicatietechnologie voor korteafstandsverbindingen. Beschikbare apparaten: Mobiele telefoons, mp3-spelers, laptops, pda’s (deze apparaten ondersteunen stereo headsets.) Bluetooth profielen Om Bluetooth draadloze technologie te gebruiken moeten apparaten bepaalde profielen kunnen interpreteren. Deze speler is compatibel met het volgende profiel. 1. Selecteer de Bluetooth functie met INPUT/ TUNER of BT AUDIO.
26 Installeren Informatie van een aangesloten Bluetooth apparaat controleren Deze functie wordt na de koppeling gebruikt. U kunt de Bluetooth informatie controleren. Druk een paar keer op DISPLAY en houd deze knop even ingedrukt. De Bluetooth informatie wordt als volgt gewijzigd. 28 Installeren Een netwerk installeren Voordat u het bedrade netwerk installeert, moet u uw thuisnetwerk op een breedbandinternetverbinding aansluiten. Als er een DHCP-server via een kabelverbinding op het LAN-netwerk is aangesloten, krijgt deze speler automatisch een IP-adres toegewezen. Bij sommige thuisnetwerken is het nodig de netwerkinstelling van de speler aan te passen nadat de fysieke verbinding is opgebouwd. Pas de [NETWERK]-instelling als volgt aan. 3 Installeren 1.

30 Installeren Usb-apparaat aansluiten De speler kan op een usb-geheugenstick opgeslagen films, muziek en fotobestanden afspelen. 1. Plaats de usb-geheugenstick in de usbpoort en zet hem goed vast. Usb-aansluiting 3 LET OP • Voor het openen van bestanden (film, foto en muziek) ondersteunt deze speler usbflashgeheugens en volgens FAT 16, FAT 32 en NTFS geformatteerde harde disks (HDD). Voor het opnemen van BD-LIVE en audio-cd’s worden alleen volgens FAT 16 en FAT 32 geformatteerde media ondersteund.

32 Installeren [SCHERM]-menu Resolutie Beeldverhouding Hiermee stelt u de uitgangsresolutie van het HDMI- en Component-Video-signaal in. Zie pagina 22 en 67 voor meer informatie over de instelling van de resolutie. Selecteer de hoogte-breedteverhouding (aspect ratio) die met uw tv overeenstemt. [4:3 Letter Box] Selecteer deze optie wanneer een standaard 4:3-tv is aangesloten. Shows, theatervoorstellingen e.d. worden met zwarte balken aan de boven- en onderkant van het beeld weergegeven.
Installeren 1080p fullHD beeld Indien de resolutie ingesteld is op 1080p, selecteert u [24 Hz] voor een vloeiende weergave van filmmateriaal (1080p/24 Hz) op een HDMI uitgerust scherm dat compatibel is met 1080p/24 Hz invoer. LET OP • Wanneer u [24 Hz] selecteert, moet u rekening houden met de mogelijkheid van enige beeldstoring wanneer de video overschakelt tussen video- en filmmateriaal. Als dat het geval is, selecteert u [50 Hz]. HDMI Kleur instelling.
34 Installeren [AUDIO]-menu Luidspreker Set-up U bereikt de best mogelijke geluidsweergave met behulp van het scherm voor luidsprekeropstelling om vervolgens het geluidsvolume van de aangesloten luidsprekers en de afstand van de luidsprekers tot de luisterpositie in te stellen. Maak gebruik van de test om het geluidsvolume van de luidsprekers op een gelijk niveau af te stellen. 3 [Luidspreker] Hiermee selecteert u een luidspreker die u wilt afstellen.
Installeren [SLOT]-menu Om toegang te krijgen tot functies in [SLOT]instellingen moet u de beveiligingscode van vier cijfers invoeren die u hebt gemaakt. Als u nog geen wachtwoord hebt ingevoerd, wordt u dit nu gevraagd. Voer een wachtwoord van vier cijfers tweemaal in en druk up ENTER ( ) om een nieuw wachtwoord aan te maken. Wachtwoord U kunt een wachtwoord aanmaken of een bestaand wachtwoord wijzigen. [Wijzig] Voer het huidige wachtwoord in en druk op ENTER ( ).
36 Installeren [NETWERK]-menu [ANDERS]-menu Verbindingsinstelling DivX VOD Als uw thuisnetwerkomgeving klaar is voor het aansluiten van de speler, moet de speler worden ingesteld op netwerkcommunicatie. (Zie “Aansluiten op uw thuisnetwerk” op pagina 27.) INFORMATIE OVER DIVX VIDEO DivX® is een digitaal videoformaat dat door DivX, Inc. is ontwikkeld. De speler die in deze handleiding wordt uitgelegd is een officieel door DivX gecertificeerd apparaat dat geschikt is voor de weergave van DivX video.
Installeren Auto Power uitschakelen De screensaver verschijnt wanneer u het systeem ongeveer vijf minuten in de stopstand laat staan. Als u deze optie op [aan] instelt, schakelt de speler zichzelf uit nadat de screensaver 25 minuten op het beeldscherm is weergegeven. Als u deze optie op [uit] instelt, blijft de screensaver actief tot u het apparaat bedient. Initialiseren BD opslag wissen Verwijdert de BD-inhoud van de aangesloten usb-geheugenstick.

Sommige BD-ROM-disks bevatten popupmenu’s die tijdens het afspelen verschijnen. 39 Druk tijdens het afspelen op POPUP/ TOP MENU en gebruik de U/u/I/i knoppen om door de menuonderwerpen te navigeren. Vooruit of achteruit scannen Druk op m of M om tijdens afspelen snel naar voren of achteren te spoelen.

Om bijvoorbeeld een scène op 2 uur, 10 minuten en 20 seconden te vinden, voert u “21020” in. Druk op I/i om afspelen 60 seconden naar voren of achteren te halen. 3.
44 Bediening Kijken vanuit een andere hoek Beeldmodus wijzigen Als de disk beelden bevat die onder verschillende camerahoeken opgenomen zijn, kunt u overschakelen naar een andere camerahoek tijdens afspelen. Tijdens het afspelen kunt u de optie [Beeldmodus] wijzigen. BD DVD 1. Druk tijdens het afspelen op DISPLAY ( ) om het OSD (On-Screen Display) beeldscherm weer te geven. 2. Bediening De ongekende mogelijkheden van BD-Live Met deze speler kunt u genieten van functies zoals beeld-in-beeld, secundaire audio en virtuele pakketten, etc. met BD-Video met BONUSVIEW (BD-ROM versie 2 Profiel 1 versie 1.1 / Definitieve standaard profiel). U kunt secundaire video en audio afspelen van disks die geschikt zijn voor de beeld-in-beeld functie. Zie voor de weergavemethode de aanwijzingen op de disk. 1. 46 Bediening Film- en VR-disks afspelen U kunt dvd-rw-disks afspelen die in Video Recording (VR)-formaat zijn opgenomen en filmbestanden die op een disk of usb-apparaat zijn opgeslagen. 1. Druk op 4 HOME MENU. LET OP • De vereisten waaraan de bestanden moeten voldoen vindt u op pagina 11. • U kunt verscheidene afspeelfuncties gebruiken. Bediening Een bestand met ondertitels selecteren De ondertitel-codepagina wijzigen Als de naam van een filmbestand en het betreffende ondertitelbestand gelijk zijn, wordt het ondertitelbestand automatisch tegelijk met het filmbestand afgespeeld. Als de ondertiteling van een film niet goed loopt, kunt u de ondertitelcodepagina wijzigen om het ondertitelbestand correct weer te geven.
48 Bediening Foto’s bekijken Een diavoorstelling (slideshow) afspelen Druk op B PLAY om de diapresentatie te starten. U kunt met deze speler ook fotobestanden weergeven. 1. Druk op HOME MENU. Een diapresentatie stoppen Druk op x STOP terwijl de diapresentatie loopt. Een diapresentatie pauzeren Druk op X PAUSE/STEP terwijl de diapresentatie loopt. 54 Bediening Naar een iPod luisteren in de iPod IN-modus U kunt uw iPod bedienen met behulp van de meegeleverde afstandsbediening en de bedieningsknoppen op uw iPod. 1. Sluit de iPod stevig aan. Als u dit apparaat inschakelt, wordt uw iPod automatisch ingeschakeld en start het opladen. 2. Druk op INPUT/TUNER om de iPod INmodus te selecteren. U/u/I/i Een optie in het menu selecteren. B /ENTER Start het afspelen van de muziek of video. 4 X Bediening Hiermee kunt u het afspelen pauzeren.
Bediening Radio Zorg ervoor dat de antenne is aangesloten. (Zie pagina 23) Naar de radio luisteren 1. Druk op INPUT/TUNER tot TUNER (FM) op het weergavescherm verschijnt. De radiotuner stemt nu af op het radiostation waarop u het laatst hebt afgestemd. 6. Herhaal stap 2 t/m 5 om meer stations op te slaan. Alle opgeslagen stations wissen Druk twee seconden op CLEAR (Wissen). De tekst “ERASE ALL” (Verwijder alles) gaat knipperen. Vervolgens worden alle opgeslagen stations gewist.

Als u het apparaat veilig wilt versturen, verpak het dan op dezelfde manier waarop het in de fabriek is verpakt. Plak nooit papier of plakband op een disk. Problemen oplossen 61 6 Problemen oplossen Algemeen • Steek de stroomkabel goed in het stopcontact. Het apparaat start niet met afspelen. • Leg een afspeelbare disk in de speler (en controleer of u het juiste type disk met het juiste kleurensysteem en dito regiocode gebruikt.) • Leg de disk met de afspeelkant naar beneden. • Leg de disk goed in de geleider in de disklade.. • Maak de disk schoon. • Annuleer de beoordelingsfunctie of verander het beoordelingsniveau.
62 Problemen oplossen Beeld Er is geen beeld. Er verschijnt beeldruis • Selecteer het geschikte video-ingangssignaal op de tv waardoor het beeld van het speler op het beeldscherm van de tv verschijnt. • Zorg dat de videoverbinding stevig is aangesloten. • Controleer of de [HDMI Kleur instelling.] in het [Instellen]menu is ingesteld op de component die met uw videoverbinding overeenstemt. • Het is mogelijk dat uw tv de door u op de speler ingestelde resolutie niet ondersteunt.
