2 Preparation Regional Code Certain System Requirements This unit has a regional code printed on the rear of the unit. This unit can play only BD-ROM or DVD discs labeled same as the rear of the unit or “ALL”. For high definition video playback: AVCHD (Advanced Video Codec High Definition) Preparation • This player can playback AVCHD format discs. These discs are normally recorded and used in camcorders. • The AVCHD format is a high definition digital video camera format.

Installation Positioning the system The following illustration shows an example of positioning the system. Note that the illustrations in these instructions differ from the actual unit for explanation purposes. For the best possible surround sound, all the speakers other than the subwoofer should be placed at the same distance from the listening position (A). Installation Connecting to your Home Network This player can be connected to a local area network (LAN) via the LAN port on the rear panel. 3 Installation Please refer to the documentation for your network device for further instructions. Connect the player’s LAN port to the corresponding port on your Modem or Router using a commercially available LAN or Ethernet cable (CAT5 or better with RJ45 connector).
Installation Network Setup Before setting the wired network, you need to connect the broadband internet to your home network. If there is a DHCP server on the local area network (LAN) via wired connection, this player will automatically be allocated an IP address. After making the physical connection, a small number of home networks may require the player’s network setting to be adjusted. Adjust the [NETWORK] setting as follows. 1.

After connecting the player to the home network, quickly power off and/or disconnect the power cable of the home network router or cable modem. Then power on and/or connect the power cable again. Displays theatrical images with masking bars above and below the picture. [4:3 Pan Scan] Select when a standard 4:3 TV is connected. Displays pictures cropped to fill your TV screen. Both sides of the picture are cut off. 33 Resolution Sets the output resolution of the Component and HDMI video signal.
Installation 1080p Display Mode [LANGUAGE] Menu When the resolution is set to 1080p, select [24 Hz] for smooth presentation of film material (1080p/ 24 Hz) with a HDMI-equipped display compatible with 1080p/ 24 Hz input. Display Menu Select a language for the [Setup] menu and on-screen display. NOTE • When you select [24 Hz], you may experience some picture disturbance when the video switches video and film material. In this case, select [50 Hz].
Installation [AUDIO] Menu Speaker Setup To obtain the best possible sound, use the speaker setup display to specify the volume of the speakers you have connected and their distance from your listening position. Use the test to adjust the volume of the speakers to the same level. HD AV Sync Sometimes Digital TV encounters a delay between picture and sound. If this happens you can compensate by setting a delay on the sound so that it effectively ‘waits’ for the picture to arrive: this is called HD AV Sync.
Installation [LOCK] Menu To access any features in the [LOCK] settings, you must enter the 4-digit security code you have created. If you have not entered a password yet, you are prompted to do so. Enter a 4-digit password twice, and press ENTER ( ) to create a new password. Password DVD Rating Blocks playback of rated DVD based on their content. (Not all discs are rated.) [Rating 1-8] Rating one (1) has the most restrictions and rating eight (8) is the least restrictive.
Installation [OTHERS] Menu Connection Setting DivX VOD If your home network environment is ready to connect to the player, the player needs to be set up for network communication. (See “Connecting to your Home Network” on page 28.) ABOUT DIVX VIDEO: DivX® is a digital video format created by DivX, Inc. This is an official DivX Certified device that plays DivX video. Installation Auto Power Off The screen saver appears when you leave the player in Stop mode for about five minutes. If you set this option to [On], the unit automatically turns itself off after the Screen Saver is displayed for 25 minutes. Set this option to [Off ] to leave the screen saver until the unit is operated by the user. Initialize Factory Set You can reset the player to its original factory settings. 3 Installation BD Storage Clear Removes the BD contents from the connected USB storage.
Installation Sound Effect 39 [Clear Voice]: This mode makes voice sound clear, improving the quality of voice sound. [Game]: You can enjoy more virtual sound while playing video games. You can select a suitable sound mode. Press SOUND repeatedly until the desired mode appears on the front panel display or the TV screen. Operation Last Scene Memory BD DVD This unit memorizes the last scene from the last disc that is viewed. The last scene remains in memory even if you remove the disc from the unit or switch off the unit. If you load a disc that has the scene memorized, the scene is automatically recalled. NOTE • Last Scene Memory function for a previous disc is erased once a different disc is played. On-Screen display You can display and adjust various information and settings concerning the content.

Secondary video and audio can be played from a disc compatible with the picture-in-picture function. For the playback method, refer to the instructions in the disc.

You can play DVD-RW discs that are recorded in Video Recording (VR) format and movie files contained in a disc or USB device. 1. Operation Selecting a subtitle file Changing subtitle code page MOVIE MOVIE If a movie file name and the subtitle file name are the same, subtitle file is played automatically when playing the movie file. If the subtitle is not displayed properly, You can change the subtitle code page to view the subtitle file properly. If the subtitle file name is different with the movie file name, you need to select the subtitle file on the [Movie] menu before playing the movie. 1.

Troubleshooting Network BD-LIVE feature does not work. • The connected USB storage may not have enough space. Connect the USB storage with at least 1GB free space. • Ensure that the unit is correctly connected to the local area network and can access the internet (see page 28). • Your broadband speed may not be fast enough to use the BD-LIVE features. Sobald das Symbol “Xx (Pause Stop)” kurz auf dem Bildschirm erscheint, drücken Sie auf B PLAY, um die Wiedergabe (ab der aktuellen Szene) fortzusetzen. Bei zweimaligem Drücken auf x STOP bzw. beim Auswerfen der Disc erscheint das Symbol “x” Stop auf dem Bildschirm. Das Gerät löscht daraufhin sämtliche Anhaltepunkte.
Betrieb Abschnittswiederholung BD DVD AVCHD ACD Es ist möglich, einen markierten Abschnitt wiederholt wiederzugeben. 1. Drücken Sie während der Wiedergabe die Taste REPEAT ( ), um den Startpunkt [A-] des zu wiederholenden Abschnitts festzulegen. Drücken Sie abschließend auf ENTER ( ). 2. Drücken Sie am Ende des Abschnitts auf ENTER ( ). Der gewählte Abschnitt wird daraufhin fortlaufend wiederholt. 3. Connettere la porta LAN alla porta corrispondente del proprio modem o router usando un cavo LAN o Ethernet disponibile commercialmente (CAT5 o superiore con connettore RJ45).
Installazione Impostazione rete Prima di impostare la rete cablata è necessario collegare la rete a banda larga alla rete domestica. Se sulla rete locale (LAN) è presente un server DHCP tramite connessione cablata, questo lettore riceverà allocato automaticamente un indirizzo IP. Dopo avere eseguito la connessione fisica, un certo numero di reti locali può richiedere una regolazione delle impostazioni di rete del lettore. Regolare le impostazioni di rete [RETE] come segue. 2.

Installeren 19 De middenluidspreker Extra informatie over aan de wand bevestigen het ophangen van luidsprekers De middenluidspreker is voorzien van een montageopening die u kunt gebruiken om de luidspreker aan de wand te bevestigen. Plaats de linker en rechter hoofdluidsprekers op gelijke afstanden van de televisie. Vóór de montage U moet zelf voor de bevestigingsschroeven zorgen.
20 Installeren Het systeem opstellen De volgende afbeelding toont een voorbeeld van de opstelling van een systeem. U moet er rekening mee houden dat de afbeeldingen in deze handleiding omwille van de duidelijkheid kunnen afwijken van de werkelijke uitvoering van de apparaten. U bereikt de best mogelijke surround-sound door alle luidsprekers – met uitzondering van de subwoofer – op dezelfde afstand van uw luisterpositie (A) te plaatsen.
Installeren Aansluitingen op uw tv Maak een van de volgende aansluitingen, afhankelijk van de mogelijkheden van uw bestaande apparatuur. • HDMI-aansluiting (pagina 21-22) • Component Video-aansluiting (pagina 22) • Videoverbinding (pagina 23) HDMI-aansluiting Indien u een HDMI TV of monitor heeft, kunt u deze aansluiten op de speler met behulp van een HDMI kabel (Type A, versie 1.3).
22 Installeren Component Video-aansluiting LET OP • Er kunnen foutmeldingen ontstaan als u de resolutie wijzigt terwijl de aansluiting reeds gemaakt is. Om het probleem op te lossen, schakelt u de speler uit en weer in. • Indien de HDMI aansluiting met HDCP niet geverifieerd is, wordt het TV scherm gewijzigd in een zwart scherm. In dat geval controleert u de HDMI-aansluiting, of koppelt u de HDMI-kabel los.
Installeren Videoverbinding Resolutie instellen Sluit de VIDEO UIT stekkerbus van de speler aan op de video in ingang van de tv. Gebruik hiervoor een videokabel. U kunt het geluid via de luidspreker van het systeem weergeven. De speler voorziet in verschillende uitvoerresoluties voor HDMI en COMPONENT VIDEO uitgangen. U kunt de resolutie aanpassen in het [Instellen]-menu. 1. Druk op HOME MENU ( Videoverbinding 23 ). 2. Gebruik I/i/U/u om [Instellen] te selecteren en druk op ENTER ( ).
24 Installeren Antenneaansluiting Sluit voor de ontvangst van radio-uitzendingen de meegeleverde antenne aan. Antenneaansluiting Op een extern apparaat aansluiten AUX-aansluiting U kunt het geluid van een component weergeven met gebruikmaking van de analoge audio-uitgangen van de luidsprekers van het systeem. Sluit de analoge audio-uitgangen van de component aan op de AUX L/R (INGANG) van het hoofdapparaat. Selecteer vervolgens de optie [AUX] op INPUT/TUNER, I/i en druk vervolgens op ENTER ( ).
Installeren PORTABLE IN-aansluiting OPTICAL IN 1/2-aansluiting U kunt ook het geluid van uw draagbare audioapparaten via de luidsprekers van het systeem weergeven. U kunt het geluid van componenten ook via de digitale optische aansluiting van de luidsprekers van het systeem weergeven. Sluit de hoofdtelefoon- of lijnuitgang van de draagbare audiospeler aan op de PORT INaansluiting van het hoofdapparaat.
26 Installeren Bluetooth® aansluiting Informatie over Bluetooth Bluetooth® is een draadloze communicatietechnologie voor korteafstandsverbindingen. 3 Installeren Het bereik gaat tot 10 m. (het geluid kan worden onderbroken wanneer de verbinding wordt gestoord door andere elektronische velden of wanneer u een Bluetooth apparaat in een andere kamer gebruikt.) Voor het aansluiten van afzonderlijke apparaten door middel van draadloze Bluetooth technologie zijn geen kosten verschuldigd.
Installeren Informatie van een aangesloten Bluetooth apparaat controleren Deze functie wordt na de koppeling gebruikt. U kunt de Bluetooth informatie controleren. Druk een paar keer op DISPLAY en houd deze knop even ingedrukt. De Bluetooth informatie wordt als volgt gewijzigd. 28 Installeren Aansluiten op uw thuisnetwerk U kunt deze speler via de LAN-poort achterop de speler op een lokaal netwerk (LAN) aansluiten. 3 Installeren Zie voor nadere aanwijzingen de documentatie van uw netwerkapparaat. Sluit de LAN-poort van de speler met een in de handel verkrijgbare LAN- of Ethernetkabel (CAT5 of beter met RJ45-connector) aan op de daarmee overeenkomende poort van uw modem of router.
Installeren Een netwerk installeren Voordat u het bedrade netwerk installeert, moet u uw thuisnetwerk op een breedbandinternetverbinding aansluiten. Als er een DHCP-server via een kabelverbinding op het LAN-netwerk is aangesloten, krijgt deze speler automatisch een IP-adres toegewezen. Bij sommige thuisnetwerken is het nodig de netwerkinstelling van de speler aan te passen nadat de fysieke verbinding is opgebouwd. Pas de [NETWERK]-instelling als volgt aan. 2.

Nadat u de speler op het thuisnetwerk hebt aangesloten, schakelt u de stroom even uit of maakt u de stroomkabel van de router van het thuisnetwerk of de kabelmodem los. Vervolgens schakelt u de stroom weer in en/of sluit u de stroomkabel weer aan.
Installeren Usb-apparaat aansluiten De speler kan op een usb-geheugenstick opgeslagen films, muziek en fotobestanden afspelen. 1. Plaats de usb-geheugenstick in de usbpoort en zet hem goed vast. Usb-aansluiting 31 LET OP • Voor het openen van bestanden (film, foto en muziek) ondersteunt deze speler usbflashgeheugens en volgens FAT 16, FAT 32 en NTFS geformatteerde harde disks (HDD). Voor het opnemen van BD-LIVE en audio-cd’s worden alleen volgens FAT 16 en FAT 32 geformatteerde media ondersteund.

[4:3 Letter Box] Selecteer deze optie wanneer een standaard 4:3-tv is aangesloten. Shows, theatervoorstellingen e.d. worden met zwarte balken aan de boven- en onderkant van het beeld weergegeven.
34 Installeren 1080p fullHD beeld Indien de resolutie ingesteld is op 1080p, selecteert u [24 Hz] voor een vloeiende weergave van filmmateriaal (1080p/24 Hz) op een HDMI uitgerust scherm dat compatibel is met 1080p/24 Hz invoer. LET OP • Wanneer u [24 Hz] selecteert, moet u rekening houden met de mogelijkheid van enige beeldstoring wanneer de video overschakelt tussen video- en filmmateriaal. Als dat het geval is, selecteert u [50 Hz].
Installeren [AUDIO]-menu Luidspreker Set-up U bereikt de best mogelijke geluidsweergave met behulp van het scherm voor luidsprekeropstelling om vervolgens het geluidsvolume van de aangesloten luidsprekers en de afstand van de luidsprekers tot de luisterpositie in te stellen. Maak gebruik van de test om het geluidsvolume van de luidsprekers op een gelijk niveau af te stellen. [Luidspreker] Hiermee selecteert u een luidspreker die u wilt afstellen.
36 Installeren [SLOT]-menu Om toegang te krijgen tot functies in [SLOT]instellingen moet u de beveiligingscode van vier cijfers invoeren die u hebt gemaakt. Als u nog geen wachtwoord hebt ingevoerd, wordt u dit nu gevraagd. Voer een wachtwoord van vier cijfers tweemaal in en druk up ENTER ( ) om een nieuw wachtwoord aan te maken. Wachtwoord U kunt een wachtwoord aanmaken of een bestaand wachtwoord wijzigen.

De weergegeven onderwerpen voor de equalizer kunnen verschillen, afhankelijk van de gekozen geluidsbronnen en effecten. Druk op B (PLAY) om het afspelen (vanaf het opgeslagen punt) te hervatten wanneer “Xx (Afspelen hervatten)” kortstondig op het scherm verschijnt. Als u tweemaal op x (STOP) drukt of de disk uit de disklade verwijdert, verschijnt “x” (Volledige stop) op het scherm. Hierbij wordt het opgeslagen stoppunt door het apparaat gewist.
Bediening Een bepaald gedeelte herhalen BD DVD AVCHD ACD Deze speler kan een door u geselecteerd gedeelte van een bestand herhalen. 1. 48 Bediening De ongekende mogelijkheden van BD-Live Met deze speler kunt u genieten van functies zoals beeld-in-beeld, secundaire audio en virtuele pakketten, etc. met BD-Video met BONUSVIEW (BD-ROM versie 2 Profiel 1 versie 1.1 / Definitieve standaard profiel). U kunt secundaire video en audio afspelen van disks die geschikt zijn voor de beeld-in-beeld functie. Zie voor de weergavemethode de aanwijzingen op de disk.
Bediening Film- en VR-disks afspelen U kunt dvd-rw-disks afspelen die in Video Recording (VR)-formaat zijn opgenomen en filmbestanden die op een disk of usb-apparaat zijn opgeslagen. 1. 50 Bediening Een bestand met ondertitels selecteren De ondertitel-codepagina wijzigen MOVIE MOVIE Als de naam van een filmbestand en het betreffende ondertitelbestand gelijk zijn, wordt het ondertitelbestand automatisch tegelijk met het filmbestand afgespeeld. Als de ondertiteling van een film niet goed loopt, kunt u de ondertitelcodepagina wijzigen om het ondertitelbestand correct weer te geven.

Bediening Naar een iPod luisteren in de iPod IN-modus U kunt uw iPod bedienen met behulp van de meegeleverde afstandsbediening en de bedieningsknoppen op uw iPod. 1. Sluit de iPod stevig aan. Als u dit apparaat inschakelt, wordt uw iPod automatisch ingeschakeld en start het opladen. 2. Druk op INPUT/TUNER om de iPod INmodus te selecteren. Een optie in het menu selecteren. 58 Bediening Radio 6. Herhaal stap 2 t/m 5 om meer stations op te slaan. Alle opgeslagen stations wissen Zorg ervoor dat de antenne is aangesloten. (Zie pagina 24) Naar de radio luisteren 1. Druk op INPUT/TUNER tot TUNER (FM) op het weergavescherm verschijnt. De radiotuner stemt nu af op het radiostation waarop u het laatst hebt afgestemd. 4 2. Er verschijnt beeldruis • Selecteer het geschikte video-ingangssignaal op de tv waardoor het beeld van het speler op het beeldscherm van de tv verschijnt. • Zorg dat de videoverbinding stevig is aangesloten. • Controleer of de [HDMI Kleur instelling.] in het [Instellen]menu is ingesteld op de component die met uw videoverbinding overeenstemt. • Het is mogelijk dat uw tv de door u op de speler ingestelde resolutie niet ondersteunt.
66 Problemen oplossen Netwerk BD-LIVE functie werkt niet. • De aangesloten usb-geheugenstick heeft niet genoeg opslagruimte. Sluit een usb-geheugenstick aan met minstens 1 GB vrij beschikbare geheugenruimte. • Zorg dat het toestel correct aangesloten is op het LAN netwerk en toegang heeft tot het internet (zie bladzijde 28). • Uw zendsnelheid is te traag voor het gebruik van BD-Live functies.
