Combining and Using Pioneer AV Equipment
Fast Reverse
1 During play, move the control stick left.
2 Release the control stick at the point you want to watch/listen.
Playback resumes from that point.
If you continue pushing the control stick left for 5 seconds, the color of the fast reverse
mark changes from white to blue. When this happens, fast reverse continues even if you
release the control stick. To resume playback at a desired point, move the control stick up.
If you fast reverse to the beginning of a CD, normal playback resumes.
Fast reverse may not be possible at certain locations on some discs. If this happens, nor-
mal playback automatically resumes.
Stopping Playback

(STOP) button.
When you stop DVD or Video CD playback (during PBC playback only) by pressing 7
(STOP) button, that location on the disc is memorized enabling playback from that point
when you play the disc again.
Still, Frame-by-Frame and Slow Motion Playback
Still Playback
This lets you pause playback and view a still picture.
1 Move the control stick up during playback.
To return to normal playback, move the control stick up once more.
Frame-by-Frame Playback
This lets you move ahead one frame at a time during playback.
1 Press EE

Each time you press

(GUIDE) button, you move ahead one frame.
To return to normal playback, move the control stick up.
Slow Motion Playback
This lets you slow down playback speed.
1 Press EE
EE
(GUIDE) button for 1 second during playback.
To return to normal playback, move the control stick up.
There is no sound during Still, Frame-by-Frame or Slow Motion playback.
Depending on the disc and the playback location on the disc, the prohibited mark “
may be displayed indicating that Still, Frame-by-Frame and Slow Motion playback are not
possible.
With some discs, images may be unclear during Frame-by-Frame and Slow Motion play-
back.
Reverse Frame-by-Frame playback and Reverse Slow Motion playback are possible, only
connecting the XDV-P9 or XDV-P9 by the e (CANCEL ROUTE) button.
