ENGLISH 6. As with any accessory in your vehicle’s interior, the navigation system should not divert your attention from the safe operation of your vehicle. If you experience difficulty in operating the system or reading the display, please make adjustments while safely parked. ESPAÑOL 7. Do not attempt to install or service your mobile navigation unit by yourself.
Connecting the System CAUTION • Pioneer does not recommend that you install or service your navigation unit yourself. Installing or servicing of the product may expose you to risk of electric shock or other hazards. Refer all installation and servicing of your navigation unit to authorised Pioneer service personnel. • Secure all wiring with cable clamps or electrical tape. Do not allow any bare wiring to remain exposed.
Before installing the unit ENGLISH • This unit is designed for vehicles with a 12-volt battery and negative grounding. Before installing the system (especially in a recreational vehicle, lorry, or bus), check the battery voltage. • Disconnect the negative (–) terminal of the battery to avoid the risk of a short circuit. Connecting the power cord (1) ENGLISH Mobile Navigation Unit AVIC-505 ESPAÑOL Power cord Black Fuse holder (6 A) Red Yellow + Battery To the terminal always supplied with power regardless of ignition switch position. ACC To the electric terminal controlled by the ignition switch (12 V DC) ON/OFF. Do not connect this lead to power source terminals to which power is continuously supplied. If the lead is connected to such terminals, the battery may be drained.

ENGLISH Mobile Navigation Unit AVIC-505 ESPAÑOL Power cord Black, Orange, Red, Yellow Yellow/Black GUIDE ON When combining this mobile navigation unit with a Pioneer vehicle stereo, if the vehicle stereo has yellow/black leads (MUTE), connect them to those leads. This way when the guidance audio is output and when you operate the system by voice, the vehicle stereo is automatically muted to reduce the vehicle stereo volume. Connection method Clamp the reversing lamp + side lead.
Installation CAUTION • Pioneer does not recommend that you install or service your navigation unit yourself. Installing or servicing the product may expose you to risk of electric shock or other hazards. Refer all installation and servicing of your navigation unit to authorised Pioneer service personnel. • Never install the unit in places where: * It could injure the driver or passengers if the vehicle stops suddenly.
ENGLISH CAUTION • It is extremely dangerous to allow the GPS antenna lead or microphone lead to become wound around the steering column or gearstick. Be sure to install the unit in such a way that it will not obstruct driving. • Make sure that leads cannot get caught in a door or the sliding mechanism of a seat, resulting in a short circuit. ESPAÑOL • Please confirm the proper function of your vehicle’s other equipment following installation of the navigation unit.
Installation Installing the main unit Installation notes • Do not install the main unit in places where it may become subject to high temperatures or humidity, such as: * Places close to a heater outlet. * Places exposed to direct sunlight, such as on top of the dashboard or the rear shelf. • Places that may be splashed by rain, for example close to the door. • The installation strength will depend on the vehicle model and the installation position.

Installation Installing the main unit inside the boot, on the floor under a seat, etc., using tapping screws 1. Fit the mounting brackets to the sides of the main unit. Use the following holes on the mounting brackets. Mounting bracket Screws (5 × 8 mm) 2. Fix to the floor with tapping screws. Tapping screws (6 × 16 mm) Drill 4 to 4.5 mm diameter holes.
Installing the GPS antenna ENGLISH CAUTION • Do not cut the GPS antenna lead to shorten it or use an extension to make it longer. Altering the antenna cable could result in a short circuit. ESPAÑOL Installation notes Dashboard DEUTSCH • The antenna should be installed on a level surface where radio waves will be blocked as little as possible. Radio waves cannot be received by the antenna if reception from the satellite is blocked.

Make sure the surface is free of moisture, dust, grime, oil, etc.
When installing the antenna outside the vehicle (on the body) ENGLISH Put the GPS antenna in a position as level as possible, such as on the roof or boot lid. (The GPS antenna is fastened with a magnet.) GPS antenna ESPAÑOL Make a U-shaped loop in the lead on the outside to prevent rainwater from flowing along the lead into the interior of the vehicle. When installing the microphone on the sun visor ENGLISH 1. Install the microphone on the microphone clip. Microphone ESPAÑOL Microphone clip 2. Install the microphone clip on the sun visor. With the sun visor up, install the microphone clip. (Lowering the sun visor reduces the recognition rate for voice operations.) Installation When installing the microphone on the steering column 1. Install the microphone on the microphone clip. Fit the microphone lead into the groove. Microphone Microphone clip 2. Clamps Use clamps to secure the lead where necessary inside the vehicle.
After installing the unit 1. Reconnecting the battery. ENGLISH First, double-check that all connections are correct and that the unit is installed correctly. Reassemble all vehicle components that you previously removed. Then reconnect the negative (–) cable to the negative (–) terminal of the battery. 2. Start the engine. 3. ENGLISH PRECAUCIÓN • Es peligrosísimo dejar que el cable de la antena GPS y el cable del micrófono se enrollen en la base del volante o en la palanca de cambios. Asegúrese de instalar la unidad de forma que ésta no sea un obstáculo para la conducción. ESPAÑOL • Asegúrese de que los cables no queden atrapados en una puerta ni en el mecanismo de deslizamiento de un asiento porque puede producirse un cortocircuito.
Instalación Instalación de la unidad principal Notas acerca de la instalación • No instale la unidad principal en lugares donde quede expuesta a temperaturas y humedades altas, tales como: * Lugares próximos a salidas de calefacciones. * Lugares expuestos a la luz solar directa tales como el salpicadero o la estantería trasera del vehículo. • Lugares donde pueda ser salpicada por la lluvia como, por ejemplo, cerca de la puerta.
ENGLISH • No instale la unidad principal verticalmente. Instalarla de esta forma puede ser la causa de que la unidad funcione mal.
Instalación Cuando instale la unidad principal en el maletero, en el suelo debajo de un asiento, etc., utilizando tornillos autorroscantes 1. Instalación del mando a distancia con cinta Velcro ENGLISH Fije las piezas pequeñas de cinta Velcro suministradas (lado basto) en la superficie trasera del mando a distancia, y la pieza grande de cinta Velcro (lado blando) en la superficie de instalación. Cuando instale el micrófono en el parasol ENGLISH 1. Instale el micrófono en la presilla de micrófono. Micrófono ESPAÑOL Presilla de micrófono 2. Instale la presilla de micrófono en el parasol. Con el parasol hacia arriba, instale la presilla del micrófono. (Al bajar el parasol se reduce la capacidad de reconocimiento para las operaciones mediante voz.) Después de instalar la unidad 1. Vuelva a conectar la batería. ENGLISH Primero, cerciórese de que todas las conexiones estén bien hechas y de que la unidad esté instalada correctamente. Vuelva a instalar todos los componentes del vehículo que extrajo previamente. Y luego vuelva a conectar el cable negativo (–) al borne negativo (–) de la batería. 2. Ponga en marcha el motor. 3. Presione el botón de reset de la unidad principal.

Anschluß des Geräts VORSICHTSMASSNAHME • Pioneer rät nachdrücklich davon ab, das Navigationgerät eigenhändig einzubauen oder zu warten, da hierbei die Möglichkeit elektrischer Schläge und anderer Gefahren besteht. Einbau und Wartung des Navigationsgeräts sind deshalb dem autorisierten Kundendienst-Fachpersonal zu überlassen. • Unsachgemäßer Einbau kann zum Erlöschen der Garantie des Fahrzeugherstellers führen.
Vor dem Einbau des Geräts ENGLISH • Das Navigationgerät ist für Fahrzeuge mit 12-Volt-Batterien und negativer Masse bestimmt. Vor dem Einbau des Geräts zuerst die Batteriespannung überprüfen (gilt besonders für Freizeitfahrzeuge, Laster und Busse). • Zur Vermeidung der Kurzschlußgefahr das an den Negativpol (–) der Batterie angeschlossene Batteriekabel trennen. Einbau VORSICHTSMASSNAHME • Pioneer rät nachdrücklich davon ab, das Navigationsgerät eigenhändig einzubauen oder zu warten, da hierbei die Möglichkeit elektrischer Schläge und anderer Gefahren besteht. ENGLISH ESPAÑOL 6. Evenals bij het gebruik van andere accessoires in uw auto dient u erop te letten dat het autonagivatiesysteem niet uw aandacht van de weg afleidt. Probeer het autonavigatie-systeem niet zelf in te bouwen of onderhoud aan het systeem te verrichten.
Aansluitingen BELANGRIJK • Pioneer raadt u af het apparaat zelf in te bouwen of eventueel onderhoud te verrichten. Bij verkeerd inbouwen of onderhoud bestaat de kans op een elektrische schok of een andere gevaarlijke situatie. Laat inbouwen en onderhoud van het apparaat over aan bevoegd Pioneer servicepersoneel. • Maak alle draden met kabelklemmen of isolatietape vast. Let er tevens op dat er geen draden bloot liggen.
Alvorens u het apparaat inbouwt ENGLISH • Dit apparaat is ontworpen voor gebruik in auto's met een 12-volt, negatief-geaarde accu. Controleer de accuspanning voordat u het apparaat inbouwt (dit geldt in het bijzonder wanneer u het apparaat inbouwt in een campingbus, vrachtauto of bus). • Maak de massakabel (–) van de accu los, om kortsluiting tijdens het inbouwen te voorkomen.

VOORRANG GESPROKEN INSTRUCTIES Wanneer u het autonavigatiesysteem in combinatie met een Pioneer car-stereo installatie gebruikt en de car-stereo van geel/zwarte draden (MUTE) is voorzien, sluit u die draden hierop aan. Wanneer het autonavigatiesysteem dan gesproken instructies geeft of als u het systeem via spraak bedient, zal het geluid van de car-stereo automatisch gedempt worden.
Inbouwen BELANGRIJK • Pioneer raadt u af het apparaat zelf in te bouwen of eventueel onderhoud te verrichten. Bij verkeerd inbouwen of onderhoud bestaat de kans op een elektrische schok of een andere gevaarlijke situatie. Laat inbouwen en onderhoud van het apparaat over aan bevoegd Pioneer servicepersoneel. • Monteer het apparaat nooit op een plaats waar: * Het apparaat letsel kan toebrengen aan de bestuurder of de passagiers wanneer plotseling hard geremd wordt.
ENGLISH BELANGRIJK • Wanneer de GPS antennedraad of de microfoondraad zich rond de stuurkolom of de versnellingspook wikkelt, ontstaat een bijzonder gevaarlijke situatie. Let er bij het inbouwen van het systeem op dat u op geen enkele wijze gehinderd wordt bij de normale besturing van de auto. ESPAÑOL • Zorg ervoor dat de draden niet loshangen en geraakt kunnen worden door een portier of stoelverschuivingsmechanisme, met eventueel kortsluiting tot gevolg.
Inbouwen Inbouwen van het hoofdapparaat Opmerkingen betreffende het inbouwen • Monteer het hoofdapparaat niet op een plaats waar het apparaat blootgesteld staat aan hoge temperaturen of vocht, zoals: * In de buurt van verwarmingsroosters. * Op plaatsen blootgesteld aan direct zonlicht, zoals op het dashboard of op de hoedenplank. • Op plaatsen waar water op het apparaat terecht kan komen, zoals dicht in de buurt van een portier.
ENGLISH • Monteer het apparaat niet verticaal. Het apparaat zal dan niet juist functioneren.
Inbouwen Inbouwen van het apparaat in de kofferruimte, op de vloer onder de stoel, enz. met behulp van de tapschroeven 1. Bevestigen van de montagebeugels aan de zijkanten van het apparaat. Bevestigen van de GPS antenne ENGLISH BELANGRIJK • Maak de GPS antennedraad niet korter en ook niet langer. Wijzigen van de antennedraad kan resulteren in kortsluiting. Dashboard Dak DEUTSCH • De antenne dient op een zo horizontaal mogelijk oppervlak te worden bevestigd op een plaats waar de ontvangst van de radiogolven zo min mogelijk wordt gehinderd. De antenne kan de radiogolven van de satelliet alleen ontvangen als er geen obstakel tussen de antenne en de satelliet is.

Bevestigen van de afstandsbediening met het klittenband ENGLISH Plak de twee kleine stukjes klittenband (grof) op de achterkant van de afstandsbediening en plak het grote stuk klittenband (fijn) op een geschikte plaats in de auto. Inbouwen Bevestigen van de microfoon Opmerkingen betreffende de plaats voor de microfoon • Monteer de microfoon op een plaats en in de richting waarin deze het stemgeluid van de persoon die het systeem via spraak bedient goed kan opvangen.
Bevestigen van de microfoon op de zonneklep ENGLISH 1. Monteer de microfoon in de microfoonclip. Microfoon ESPAÑOL Microfoonclip 2. Monteer de microfoonclip op de zonneklep. Bevestig de microfoonclip op de omhooggeklapte zonneklep. (Bij het omlaagklappen van de zonneklep zal het stemherkenningsvermogen van de microfoon afnemen.) DEUTSCH Microfoonclip FRANÇAIS Klemmen Gebruik de klemmen om de draad op de vereiste plaatsen tegen het interieur van de auto te bevestigen.
Inbouwen Bevestigen van de microfoon op de stuurkolom 1. Monteer de microfoon in de microfoonclip. Laat de microfoondraad via de groef lopen. Microfoon Microfoonclip 2. Bevestig de microfoonclip op de stuurkolom. Dubbelzijdig plakband Bevestig de microfoonclip op de bovenkant van de stuurkolom. Klemmen Gebruik de klemmen om de draad op de vereiste plaatsen tegen het interieur van de auto te bevestigen.
Nadat het apparaat is ingebouwd 1. Sluit de accu aan. ENGLISH Controleer nogmaals of alle aansluitingen op de juiste wijze zijn gemaakt en het apparaat correct is ingebouwd. Monteer de auto-onderdelen die u bij het inbouwen van het apparaat heeft verwijderd. Sluit tot slot de massakabel (–) weer op de massapool (–) van de accu aan. 2. Start de motor. 3. Druk op de terugsteltoets van het apparaat. ESPAÑOL Druk met een spits voorwerp zoals de punt van een pen op de terugsteltoets van het apparaat.
