Using the muting/
attenuation and hands free
telephoning function
Navigation guidance muting/
attenuation function
When the navigation outputs the guidance
voice, the audio volume is muted or attenuat-
ed.
When “MUTE” or “ATT” is selected in the
mute setting. (Refer to Switching the mut-
ing/attenuation setting on page 92.)
When “OFF” is selected in the hands free
telephoning setting. (Refer to Switching
the hands free telephoning on page 95.)
If “ON” is selected in the hands free telephon-
ing setting, both the audio volume and the
navigation guidance voice are muted or atten-
uated when a call is made or received.
Muting/attenuation function
When a mute signal has been received from
the yellow/black lead connected to this prod-
uct, the audio volume is muted or attenuated.
This function is activated in the following con-
dition:
When “MUTE” or “ATT” is selected in the
mute setting. (Refer to Switching the mut-
ing/attenuation setting on page 92.)
When “OFF” is selected in the hands free
telephoning setting. (Refer to Switching
the hands free telephoning on page 95.)
The sound is turned off, “MUTE” is dis-
played and no audio adjustments are pos-
sible.
The sound is attenuated, “ATT” is dis-
played and no audio adjustments, except
volume control, are possible.
Operation returns to normal when the
phone connection is ended.
The guidance voice of navigation isn’t mut-
ed or attenuated when a call is made or re-
ceived.
Hands free telephoning func-
tion
When a call is made or received using a
hands free telephone unit, the source chang-
es to the TEL source and sound from this sys-
tem is muted automatically. The voice of the
person you talk to comes from the speakers.
This function is activated in the following con-
dition:
—“ON” is selected in the hands free tele-
phoning setting. (Refer to Switching the
hands free telephoning on page 95.)
When a call is made or received, no source
change is possible.
When a call is made or received, only two
adjustments (volume and fader/balance)
are possible.
Operation returns to normal when the
phone connection is ended.
Telephone standby can be selected as a
source when “ON” is selected in the tele-
phone standby setting. (Refer to Switching
the telephone standby on page 96.)
Only when “TEL 1” is turned on, the guid-
ance voice of navigation will be muted or
attenuated.
When “TEL 1” is turned on, neither
MUTE” nor “ATT” is displayed.
