The term “codec” is sometimes used (for example, when Sequences are exported as AVI
files,
page 15-11) to refer to a specific method of encoding and decoding data in order to
generate a specific file format. This can be done by means of either software and hard-
ware. In the case of AVI export, you can choose from among different codecs that are
optimized on the basis of specific criteria.
Render formats
When rendering effects, Pinnacle Liquid also generates a specific format. This format depends on
the File and Media Format selected and, depending on the editing system, is without further
options.
Only in the case of the I-MPEG Media Format are you allowed to select an NDQ level.
