Lowpass filtering
The lowpass filtering feature can reject high frequencies from any selected input
channel. The filtering control is found in the Advanced Channel Options dialog,
which is opened by clicking the Channel Options button ( ) for the relevant
channel on the Channels toolbar. The control determines the cut-off frequency of the
filter, which must be below half the sampling rate shown in the Properties sheet.

Lowpass filtering is useful for rejecting noise. The split screenshot below shows the
effect of applying a 1 kHz lowpass filter on a noisy signal. The underlying shape of the
signal is preserved but the high-frequency noise is eliminated:
