Installation Instructions

1500 Back-Up

• Lighting laws vary state to state, check your local laws before use.

• Do not submerge lamps in water. The dramatic change in temperature may

cause the glass lens to crack. The lamps are not water tight, they will fill

with water if submerged.

• The lamps and relay harness are to be used only with 12 volt automotive

electrical systems.

• Using this light system while the engine is not running will drain the battery.

• Do not repeatedly turn the light system on and off as it will shorten the life

of the system.

• Some automobiles generate high voltage at start up and when it is turned off,

do not have lights on as you start or turn off your vehicle.

• Using the wrong bulbs may cause a malfunction, use only specified PIAA bulbs.

• When changing bulbs or lenses follow the lamp assembly/disassembly diagram.

• Leave at least 1/8” clearance between the lamps and the front spoiler,

as the heat may damage the spoiler.

LAMP INSTALLATION • The work site must be clean and level with enough working space to complete the job without distractions. • The PIAA 1500 Back-Up lamp is intended to mount hanging down or upright. For an upright mount just reverse the mounting bracket. The "PIAA" on the lens should always read right side up. • When mounting the lamps mount them in such a place that they are free of obstructions. • Do not modify the lamp system in any way or it will void the warranty.

HARNESS INSTALLATION Run the PIAA harness from the engine compartment next to the battery back to the PIAA back-up lamp. Run the switch into the drivers compartment and mount it in a location that is easy for the driver to control and so that it is out of the way of other automotive functions. Before connecting any wires disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal. When installing the harness follow the wiring diagram and make connections as instructed. Connect the harness to the lamp.

EXCLUSIONS This Limited Warranty specifically excludes defects resulting from misuse, abuse, neglect, alteration, modification, improper installation, unauthorized repairs, submersion, theft, vehicle crash, or by any other type of impact.
