Note: The alarm function remains active and the light ring round the alarm button continues to burn.

Tip: We advise you to set the light intensity to 20 (maximum level) for reading. If this light level is not
strong enough, switch on an extra lamp.
Note: The light intensity level you select is automatically set as the light intensity level for the alarm as
well.

Radio
1 PresstheRADIObuttontoswitchontheradio(Fig.24).

2 Use the %andthe^buttonstoselectthefrequencyofyourfavoritestation.(Fig.26)
You can choose FM stations.
Note: To scan radio frequencies automatically, press and hold the the % or the ^button for approx. 2
seconds.

Power failure
To make sure the alarm goes off at the set time after a short power failure, the appliance has been
provided with a backup system. This system has a self-charging battery that does not have to be
replaced. The system remembers the time for a few minutes.
Afteralongpowerfailure,thedisplayshowsanincorrectclocktimeandthealarmtimeis
00.00.Setthecorrectclocktime(seechapter‘Preparingforuse’)andthecorrectalarmtime
(seechapter‘Usingtheappliance’)(Fig.7).
Reset
1 Iftheappliancedoesnotrespondwell,removetheplugfromthewallsocketandthen
reinsertit.Ifthisdoesnothelp,presstheresetbuttononthebottomoftheapplianceto
resetthedisplaytothefactorydefaultsettings(Fig.27).
Cleaning and maintenance
Alwaysunplugtheapplianceandletitcooldownforapprox.15minutesbeforeyoustart
cleaningit.
Neverusescouringpads,abrasivecleaningagentsoraggressiveliquidssuchaspetroloracetone
tocleantheappliance.
Regularlyremovedustfromtheinsideoftheappliancewithadrycloth,asaccumulateddust
closetoapowerfullamppresentsapotentialrehazard.
