Intended use This appliance is intended for the removal of unwanted hair. It is able to deliver long-term reduction in the number of hairs that regrow after treatment. You can use Philips Lumea Comfort to remove unwanted body hair on all areas below the cheekbones, including the face (upper lip, chin and cheeks).

ENGLISH 13 -- On a tattoo or permanent makeup in the treatment area. -- On dark spots, such as large freckles, birthmarks, moles or warts in the treatment area. -- If you have eczema, psoriasis, lesions, open wounds or active infections in the treatment area. -- If you have a history of collagen disorder, including kelodial scar formation or poor wound healing. -- If you have a known sensitivity to light or take medication that makes your skin more sensitive to light.
ENGLISH Precautions To avoid adverse effects: -- Do not treat the same area of skin more than once during a session. -- Always shave the treatment area before treatment and make sure that the skin in the treatment area is clean and dry.
ENGLISH 15 Common side effects -- Your skin may show slight redness and/or may tingle or feel warm. This reaction is absolutely harmless and disappears quickly. -- A skin reaction similar to sunburn may occur on the treated area for a short while. If this does not disappear within 3 days, we advise you to consult a doctor. -- Dry skin and itching may occur due to shaving or a combination of shaving and light treatment. This is harmless and disappears within a few days.
ENGLISH Preparing for use Preparing treatment areas 1 Before each treatment, shave the areas you intend to treat as long as hairs continue to grow back. Note: Do not use depilatory creams instead of shaving. If you remove the hairs by the root with another depilation method (e.g. waxing or an epilator), you can start treatment immediately. 2 Make sure that your skin is dry, clean and free from deodorants, creams, lotions or perfumes.

ENGLISH 4 Move the appliance to another area and release a flash at level 2. Continue to increase the intensity by one level before releasing each next flash. Do not release more than one flash in the same spot. Do not increase the intensity beyond the maximum intensity for your skin colour (see section ‘Skin colour and light intensity’ in this chapter). 5 As soon as you experience any discomfort, reduce the intensity level to the highest level at which there was no discomfort. 6 Stop testing.
ENGLISH 19 3 After about 1 second, the READY/skin colour warning light comes on. This shows that the appliance is ready to release a flash. 4 Press the on/off/intensity button one or more times to choose the intensity level suitable for the treatment area and your skin colour. 5 Make sure that the treatment area is clean, dry and properly shaved. Place the skin contact surface on the skin.
ENGLISH 7 The appliance immediately recharges for the next flash. Depending on the intensity level selected, the READY/ skin colour warning light comes on after a few seconds. This indicates that the appliance is ready for the next flash. Choose one of the flash delivery methods and continue to treat the areas you want to treat. Note: If the treatment becomes painful at any point in time, reduce the intensity level until the treatment is comfortable again.
ENGLISH 21 How to achieve optimal results First two months -- It is normal that hairs are still visible after the first few treatments (see chapter ‘Introduction’, section ‘Working principle’ for more information). -- To remove all hairs successfully and prevent the hair follicle from becoming active again, the treatments have to be repeated once every two weeks for the first two months. Your skin should be smooth by then. Please read section ‘Maintenance phase’ to find out how you can keep these results.
ENGLISH Cleaning and maintenance To ensure optimal hair removal results, clean the appliance after each use. Never clean the appliance or any of its parts under the tap. Never use scouring pads, abrasive cleaning agents or aggressive liquids such as petrol or acetone to clean the skin contact surface. 1 Switch off the appliance and unplug it. 2 If necessary, clean the outside of the appliance with a soft cleaning cloth.

Make sure that you insert the small plug into the appliance socket properly. Check if you have inserted the adapter into a live wall socket properly. The appliance does not emit a flash when I press the flash button. Your skin colour is not suitable for treatment with this appliance.

DEUTSCH 35 -- Trockene Haut und Juckreiz können aufgrund der Rasur oder einer Kombination aus Rasur und Lichtbehandlung auftreten. Diese Reaktion ist harmlos und lässt innerhalb weniger Tage nach. Sie können die Hautpartie mit einem Eisbeutel oder einem feuchten Waschlappen kühlen. Wenn die Haut weiterhin zu trocken ist, können Sie 24 Stunden nach der Behandlung eine unparfümierte Feuchtigkeitscreme auftragen.

DEUTSCH 39 4 Drücken Sie die Ein-/Aus-/Intensitätstaste einmal oder mehrmals, um die Intensitätsstufe auszuwählen, die für den Behandlungsbereich und Ihren Hautton geeignet ist. 5 Vergewissern Sie sich, dass der Behandlungsbereich sauber, trocken und ordnungsgemäß rasiert ist. Positionieren Sie die Hautkontaktfläche auf der Haut. Wenn die Hautkontaktfläche in vollständigem Kontakt mit der Haut ist, blinkt die READY-/Hauttonwarnanzeige langsam. 6 Drücken Sie die Blitztaste.

FRANÇAIS 55 Exposition au soleil ou bronzage artificiel après utilisation -- Après une séance, attendez 48 heures avant d’exposer votre peau au soleil ou à un bronzage artificiel. Protégez la peau avec un filtre solaire d’indice SPF30 ou supérieur pendant toute la période d’épilation et pendant au moins 2 semaines après la dernière séance.
FRANÇAIS -- L’altération de la pigmentation de la peau se produit très rarement. Elle se manifeste par une plaque plus foncée ou plus claire que la zone qui l’entoure. Elle peut être provoquée par l’utilisation d’un niveau d’intensité trop élevé pour votre couleur de peau. Si elle persiste plus de 2 semaines, nous vous conseillons de consulter un médecin. Ne flashez pas les zones atteintes tant que l’altération de la pigmentation n’a pas disparu.
FRANÇAIS 57 3 Vérifiez la présence de poils, poussière ou fibres au niveau du verre filtrant et du capteur de couleur de peau. Si nécessaire, nettoyez le verre filtrant et le capteur de couleur de peau avec un chiffon sec, doux et non pelucheux. Remarque : Lorsque les poils ne repoussent plus, vous pouvez arrêter le rasage. Couleur de peau et intensité lumineuse Philips Lumea Comfort offre cinq niveaux d’intensité différents.

NEDERLANDS -- Scheren of de combinatie van scheren en lichtbehandeling kan een droge huid en jeuk veroorzaken. Dit is een onschadelijke reactie die binnen enkele dagen verdwijnt. U kunt ter verkoeling een ijskompres of een nat washandje op het gebied leggen. Als de huid droog blijft, kunt u 24 uur na de behandeling een geurloze vochtinbrengende crème aanbrengen op het behandelde gebied. Zeldzame bijwerkingen -- Brandwonden, overmatige roodheid en zwelling: deze reacties komen zelden voor.
NEDERLANDS 97 Klaarmaken voor gebruik Behandelgebieden voorbehandelen 1 Scheer voorafgaand aan elke behandeling de gebieden die u wilt behandelen zolang de haartjes nog teruggroeien. Zorg ervoor dat het intensiteitsniveau niet het maximale intensiteitsniveau voor uw huidskleur overschrijdt (zie ‘Huidskleur en lichtintensiteit’ in dit hoofdstuk).

NEDERLANDS 101 6 Druk op de flitsknop. De huidskleursensor controleert uw huidskleur. Als uw huidskleur een veilige behandeling toestaat, gaat het waarschuwingslampje GEREED/huidskleur uit. Het apparaat geeft een flits af op de huid en er klinkt een zachte klik. Opmerking: Als het apparaat geen flits afgeeft en het waarschuwingslampje GEREED/huidskleur knippert snel, dan is uw huidskleur te donker en kan deze niet veilig worden behandeld.
NEDERLANDS Stap & flits -- Laat de flitsknop los nadat het apparaat heeft geflitst. Plaats voor de volgende flits het apparaat op het gebied precies naast het vorige geflitste gebied. Zorg ervoor dat het contactoppervlak volledig op de huid is gedrukt. Deze ‘Stap & flits’-modus zorgt voor een nauwkeurige behandeling van bijv. de knieën of enkels. Opmerking: Behandel hetzelfde gebied slechts eenmaal tijdens een behandeling.
NEDERLANDS 103 Onderhoudfase -- Om ervoor te zorgen dat uw huid glad blijft, raden wij u aan de behandeling elke 4 tot 8 weken te herhalen. De tijd tussen behandelingen kan variëren, afhankelijk van uw individuele haargroei en ook per lichaamsdeel. Als tussen de behandelingen te veel haren teruggroeien, verkort dan gewoon de tijd tussen de behandelingen. Voer de behandeling echter niet vaker dan eens in de twee weken uit op hetzelfde gebied.
NEDERLANDS Reiniging en onderhoud Maak het apparaat na elk gebruik schoon voor optimale ontharingsresultaten. Maak het apparaat en de onderdelen nooit schoon onder de kraan.
