General Information English Hearing Safety Listen at a moderate volume. ● Using headphones at a high volume can impair your hearing. This product can produce sounds in decibel ranges that may cause hearing loss for a normal person, even for exposure less than a minute. The higher decibel ranges are offered for those that may have already experienced some hearing loss. ● Sound can be deceiving. Over time your hearing "comfort level" adapts to higher volumes of sound.

A Power Connect the supplied MW loop antenna and FM antenna to the respective terminals. Adjust the position of the antenna for optimal reception. MW Antenna – Before connecting the AC power cord to the wall outlet, ensure that all other connections have been made.
Preparations English FM Antenna Before using the remote control 1 2 ● For better FM stereo reception, connect an outdoor FM antenna to the FM ANTENNA terminal. 3 Front Speakers Connect the speaker wires to the SPEAKERS terminals, right speaker to "RIGHT" and left speaker to "LEFT", colored (marked) wire to "+" and black (unmarked) wire to "-". Notes: – For optimal sound performance, use the supplied speakers. – Do not connect more than one speaker to any one pair of +/- speaker terminals.

Basic Functions English Adjusting volume and sound 1 Press VOLUME 3 / 4 (+/-) to decrease or increase the volume. ➜ Display shows the volume level VOL and a number from MIN1, 2, ...30, 31 MAX. 2 Press DSC repeatedly to select the desired sound effect: ROCK/ JAZZ/ POP/ CLASSIC. 3 Press DBB to switch bass enhancement on or off. ➜ Display shows: DBB. 4 Press MUTE on the remote control to interrupt sound reproduction instantly. ➜ Playback will continue without sound and the display shows MUTE.
English CD/MP3-CD Operation Basic playback controls To play a disc ● Press ÉÅ to start playback. ➜ The current track number and elapsed playing time of the track are displayed during disc playback. B To select a different track ● Press PRESETí / ë (or í / ë on the remote) once or repeatedly until the desired track number appears in the display. ● If you have selected a track number shortly after loading a disc or in the PAUSE position, you will need to press ÉÅ to start playback.
CD/MP3-CD Operation English Notes: CD play will also stop when; – the CD door is opened. – the disc has reached the end. – you select another source: TUNER or AUX. – you select standby. – the set auto off time arrives. – no button is pressed within 15 minutes in the CD PAUSE position. REPEAT ............ plays the current track continuously 1 2 Playing an MP3 disc 1 2 3 4 Load an MP3 disc. ➜ The disc reading time may exceed 10 seconds due to the large number of songs compiled into one disc.
3 4 5 English CD/MP3-CD Operation Press PROGRAM to confirm the track number to be stored. ➜ PROG X is shown briefly, followed by the number of the track (for MP3-CD, the album and title numbers of the track) you just stored. X denotes the next program number to be stored Repeat steps 2-3 to select and store all desired tracks. ➜ FULL is displayed if you attempt to program more than 40 tracks. To star t playback of your disc program, press STOP 9 followed by ÉÅ or press ÉÅ directly.
Radio Reception English 1 Press PRESETí / ë (or í / ë on the remote) to select the preset number where programming should start. Note: – If no preset number is selected, default is preset (1) and all your presets will be overridden. 2 B Press PROGRAM for more than 2 seconds to activate programming. ➜ AUTO is displayed and available stations are programmed in order of waveband reception strength: FM followed by MW. The last preset automatically stored will then be played.
English Radio Reception Changing tuning grid (not available for all versions) In North and South America, the frequency step between adjacent channels in the MW band is 10 kHz (9 kHz in some areas). Changing the tuning grid will erase all previously stored preset radio stations. 1 2 Select TUNER source or in the tuner mode. Press STOP on the set for at least 5 seconds. ➜ The display will show "GRID 9" or "GRID10".
Clock/Timer English 1 Setting the clock 1 2 3 In standby mode or system on, press and hold DISPLAY/CLOCK on the remote control for more than 3 seconds. ➜ SET CLOCK scrolls on the display. ➜ The clock digits for the hours flash. Press VOLUME (3 / 4) (+/-) to set the hours. Press DISPLAY/CLOCK again. ➜ The clock digits for the minutes flash. 4 Press VOLUME (3 / 4) (+/-) to set the minutes. 5 Press DISPLAY/CLOCK to confirm the time. Note: – The backlight for clock display is dim in standby.
English Clock/Timer Activating and deactivating SLEEP The sleep timer enables the system to switch off by itself after a set period of time. ● Press SLEEP on the remote control once or more. ➜ Display shows SLEEP and one of the sleep time options in sequence: 90, 60, 45, 30, 15, OFF, 90... if you have selected a time. Once SLEEP is activated, SLEEP is display. ● To deactivate, press SLEEP on the remote control repeatedly until OFF is shown, or press STANDBY-ON (or B on the remote). ➜ OFF is displayed.
