Prepare the remote control Caution & Risk of explosion! Keep batteries away from heat, < ; ! < 3 Insert the black wire into the black (-) socket. 4 ` % main unit marked 'LEFT'. 5 Repeat steps 2-3. To insert the remote control battery: 1 2 Open the battery compartment. 3 Close the battery compartment. Insert 2 AAA batteries (not supplied) with correct polarity (+/-) as indicated.
3 Press PROG repeatedly to select 12 hour or 24 hour format. 4 Press CLOCK/DISPLAY < » The hour digits are displayed and begin to blink. 5 Press / (or TUNING the main unit) to set the hour. 6 Press CLOCK/DISPLAY < » The minute digits are displayed and begin to blink. 1 2 Press DISC to select the disc source. 7 Press / (or TUNING / the main unit) to set the minute. 3 8 Insert a disc with the printed side facing up, then close the disc compartment.
Random play 1 During play, press SHUF. » } ~` = G are played randomly. 2 To return to normal play, press SHUF again. Note & Random play cannot be selected when you play 5 Adjust volume level and sound effect Adjust volume level programmed. 1 Program tracks You can program a maximum of 20 tracks. 1 At CD mode, in the stop position, press / to select a track number. 2 Press PROG < » [PROG] (program) blinks on the display.

Tune to a radio station 1 2 Press TUN to select radio source. Press and hold / for more than 2 seconds. » [SEARCH] (search) is displayed.
7 Listen to tape 6 Note Press to start recording. » Disc play starts automatically from the beginning of the disc or the selected section. & & & When you play or record a tape, the sound source To pause or resume recording, press . . To stop recording, press cannot be changed. & To record, use only "Normal" (IEC type I) tapes on which the write-protect notches (tabs) are not broken. Record from radio to tape Tune to a radio station. Play a tape 1 2 1 2 Press TAPE to select the tape source.
8 Other features Note & Alarm timer is not available in AUX mode. & If disc or tape source is selected and the track or tape cannot be played, tuner is activated automatically. Set the alarm timer This unit can be used as an alarm clock. The disc or tuner is activated to play at a preset time. Set the sleep timer 1 Make sure that you have set the clock correctly. This unit can switch to standby automatically after a set period of time. 2 Press POWER to switch the unit to standby.

Clean the heads and the tape paths & H H G $ G% clean the heads A, the capstan(s) B, and pressure roller(s) C after every 50 hours of tape operation. & Use a cotton swab slightly moistened with H = < & You can also clean the heads by playing a cleaning tape once. Demagnetise the heads & Use a demagnetising tape available at your dealer. 10 Troubleshooting Caution & Never remove the casing of this apparatus.
& & & & Reduce the distance between the remote control and the unit. Insert the battery with its polarities (+/– signs) aligned as indicated. Replace the battery. Aim the remote control directly at the sensor on the front of the unit. No disc detected & Insert a disc. & Check if the disc is inserted upside down. & Wait until the moisture condensation at the lens has cleared. & Replace or clean the disc.
