A Power Connect the supplied AM loop antenna and FM antenna to the respective terminals. Adjust the position of the antenna for optimal reception.
Preparations FM Antenna English Optional connection The optional equipment and connecting cords are not supplied. Refer to the operating instructions of the connected equipment for details. ● For better FM stereo reception, connect an outdoor FM antenna to the FM AERIAL (FM ANTENNA) terminal. Finding a passage within a track Programming the disc tracks 1 Press and hold down on S or T (à or á). ➜ The disc is played at high speed and low volume. Programming tracks is possible when playback is stopped. Up to 20 tracks can be stored in the memory in any order. 1 2 When you recognize the passage you want, release S or T (à or á). ➜ Normal playback continues. Press PROGRAM to enter the programming mode. ➜ A track number is shown and prog flashes.
Radio Reception STA ND BY English Note: – If no preset number is selected, default is preset (1) and all your presets will be overridden. N -O 2 iR SOURCE TIMER SET CLOCK + BAND MP3•ALBUM REC VOLUME DISPLAY PROGRAM PRESET Press PROGRAM for more than two seconds to activate programming. AUTO ➜ “AUTO AUTO” is displayed and available stations are programmed in order of waveband reception strength: FM followed by MW. The last preset automatically stored will then be played.
STA ND BY Rewinding / Fast forwarding N -O 1 Stop playback, press S or T (à or á). ➜ The tape will stop automatically at the end of rewinding or fast forwarding. ➜ During fast winding, you can monitor the tape message with the tape counter. 2 Press Ç to stop rewinding or fast forwarding. iR SOURCE TIMER SET CLOCK + BAND MP3•ALBUM REC Note: – During rewinding or fast forwarding of a tape, it is also possible to select another source (CD or TUNER, for example).
Tape Operation / Recording English Recording timer Preparation for recording 1 2 Select TAPE source. 3 Prepare the source to be recorded. CD – load the disc. TUNER – tune to the desired radio station. AUX – connect external equipment. Load a recordable tape into tape deck with full spool to the left. When recording is in progress ➜ REC starts flashing. To record from the radio, you will need to use a preset radio station and to set a start (ON) and finish (OFF) time.
3 Press TIMER SET to confirm your desired mode. ➜ The selected source is shown. SET ON TIME Display sequence scrolls “SET TIME” and flashes. Maintenance Cleaning Discs ● When a disc becomes dirty, clean it with a cleaning cloth. Wipe the disc from the centre out. ● Do not use solvents such as benzene, thinner, commercially available cleaners, or antistatic spray intended for analogue records. Cleaning the disc lens ● After prolonged use, dirt or dust may accumulate at the disc lens. To ensure good playback quality, clean the disc lens with Philips CD Lens Cleaner or any commercially available cleaner.
Troubleshooting English RADIO RECEPTION Radio reception is poor. – If the signal is too weak, adjust the antenna or connect an external antenna for better reception. – Increase the distance between the Micro HiFi System and your TV or VCR. TAPE OPERATION / RECORDING Recording or playback cannot be made. CHECK TAPE “CHECK TAPE” is displayed. The tape deck door cannot open. GENERAL The system does not react when buttons are pressed. Sound cannot be heard or is of poor quality.
