Introduction
The Philips Shaving Head Cleaner thoroughly cleans the shaving heads of
your shaver for a good shaving result.
This product used to be called Action Clean.
Preparing the Philips Shaving Head Cleaner for use
The Philips Shaving Head Cleaner can be used to clean shavers with two
and three shaving heads.
1 Turn the top of the Philips Shaving Head Cleaner anticlockwise (1)
and pull it from the base (2). (Fig. 1)
2 Remove the fi lter unit from the base. (Fig. 2)
3 Place the appropriate shaving unit holder onto the fi lter unit. The
appropriate shaving units for the different shaver series are shown in
the pictures below.
Suitable for Sensotec shavers (HQ8000 series). (Fig. 3)
Suitable for Quadra shavers (HQ7000/6000 series). (Fig. 4)
Suitable for all other 3-head shavers, except type HQ9. (Fig. 5)
Suitable for Quadra Action shavers (HQ600 series). (Fig. 6)
Suitable for all other 2-head shavers, except type HS190. (Fig. 7)
4 Make sure the lugs on the holder fi t into the slots of the fi lter unit.

5 Empty the contents of the bottle of cleaning fl uid into the base.

Be careful not to spill cleaning fl uid onto polished surfaces, such as
bathroom worktops, as they may become blotched and dull as a result.
Using the Philips Shaving Head Cleaner
Clean the shaving unit with the Philips Shaving Head Cleaner once a month.
1 Fit the shaving unit onto the holder. (Fig. 10)
HQ8000 series only:
Slide the spring of the HQ8000 shaving unit into the recess of the
shaving unit holder. (Fig. 11)
Make sure the spring remains properly in place in the recess when you
close the shaving unit.
Close the shaving unit by pushing it carefully down onto the holder.

2 Place the top of the Philips Shaving Head Cleaner on the base (1) and
turn it clockwise until you hear a click (2). (Fig. 13)
3 Pump the cleaning fl uid through the shaving unit by pushing the top of
the Philips Shaving Head Cleaner down 30 times. (Fig. 14)
4 When you are fi nished, remove the top from the base and remove
the shaving unit from the holder. (Fig. 15)
Place the shaving unit on a piece of kitchen towel or tissue and allow it to
dry.
5 Do not rinse the shaving unit with water. (Fig. 16)
Note: The Sensotec (HQ8000 series), Quadra (HQ7000/6000 series) and
Quadra Action (HQ600 series) shavers are watertight and can be cleaned
under the tap.
Be careful with hot water. Always check if the water is not too hot to
prevent your hands from getting burnt.
6 Place the top of the Philips Shaving Head Cleaner on the base (1) and
turn it clockwise until you hear a click (2). (Fig. 13)
You can clean the shaving unit every month with the same cleaning
fl uid for a whole year.
Replacing the filter and the cleaning fluid
Only use Philips Shaving Head Cleaning Fluid HQ101, which includes a
bottle of cleaning fl uid and a fi lter. The Philips Shaving Head Cleaning Fluid
HQ101 can be obtained from your Philips dealer.
1 Remove the fi lter unit. (Fig. 17)
2 Remove the old fi lter from the fi lter unit. (Fig. 18)
3 Place a new fi lter in the fi lter unit. (Fig. 19)
4 Pour the used cleaning fl uid into a bottle (for more information on
disposal of the fl uid, see chapter ‘Environment’). (Fig. 20)
5 Place the fi lter unit in the base. (Fig. 21)

6 Fill the base of the Philips Shaving Head Cleaner with new cleaning
fl uid. (Fig. 22)
Environment
Do not pour old cleaning fl uid down the sink, but pour it in a bottle
and hand it in at an offi cial collection point for chemical waste. By
doing this you will help to preserve the environment. (Fig. 23)
