Removing the rechargeable batteries (optional)
If you choose to remove the rechargeable batteries of the massager and the candles yourself before
you hand them in at an ofcial collection point, follow the instructions below.
Massager
Donotusesharptools,suchasknivesorscrewdrivers,toopenthemassager.
1 Let the massager operate until it stops.
2 Put the massager in the battery-removal bag supplied.
3 Putthebattery-removalbagwiththemassagerinitinthefreezerforatleast24hours.
4 Takethebagfromthefreezer.Immediatelyputthebagonthegroundandstamponitwith
yourfoottobreakthemassager.
Caution:Onlydothiswhilewearingsolidshoes.Attemptingthiswithbarefeetcouldcause
injuries.
Note: If the above treatment has not broken the massager, repeat steps 3 and 4.
5 Openthebagandtakeoutthemassagerparts.
6 Unscrewtheprintedcircuitboardfromtherechargeablebatterywithaat-head
screwdriver.
Candles
Removingtherechargeablebatteriesofthecandlesmustbelefttoprofessionals!
Always take the candles to a Philips service centre to have the rechargeable batteries removed by
professionals.
1 Take a screwdriver and a hammer.
2 Putthescrewdriverontothebatteryhousing(coverplate)atapproximately5mmfromthe
outeredgeofthebatteryhousingandthecandlewall(Fig.14).
3 Beat on the screwdriver with the hammer to create slots in the cover plate along the outer
edgeofthebatteryhousinguntilthecoverplatebreaks(Fig.15).
4 Removethecoverplatefromthebatteryhousing(Fig.16).
5 Lifttherechargeablebatteryoutofthecandle(Fig.17).
Note: Dispose of batteries at an ofcial collection point for batteries.
