ENGLISH Freshness indicator To switch off the freshness indicator, follow below steps. 1 Unplug the appliance. 2 Press and hold the on/off switch and put the plug back in the wall socket. ,, The on/off switch lights up continuously for 2 seconds to confirm the freshness indicator is switched off. ENGLISH 9 Using the appliance Brewing coffee This appliance is equipped with an AromaSelect knob which allows you to adjust the strength of the coffee to your own taste. You can experiment with the AromaSelect to find the strength that you like best. 1 Make sure the plug is in an earthed wall socket. 2 Make sure the glass jug or insulated jug (with the lid in the ‘closed/brewing’ position) is placed under the filter holder. 3 Set the coffee strength you prefer with the AromaSelect knob. ENGLISH 4 Clean the glass jug (HD7695/HD7685 only) and the filter holder in hot water with some washing-up liquid or in the dishwasher (Fig. 20). To clean the insulated jug, see section ‘Insulated jug (HD7699/HD7697 only)’ in this chapter. Do not immerse the insulated jug in water or any other liquid and do not clean it in the dishwasher as this will cause damage to the jug. 5 After cleaning, rinse the glass jug with fresh hot water (Fig. 21).

ENGLISH Problem Solution If you remove the jug from the appliance for more than 20 seconds, the filter holder starts to overflow. If the above solutions do not solve the problem, please contact the Philips Consumer Care Centre. The filter overflows while the appliance is brewing coffee. Check if you placed the filter holder into the appliance properly. If the filter holder is not in the correct position, the drip stop does not work, which may cause the filter holder to overflow.
