Special coees
To brew a special coee, place a cappuccino pod, a hot chocolate pod or
another special coee pod in the 2-cup pod holder and press the 1-cup
button.
Cleaning
Never use scouring pads, abrasive cleaning agents or aggressive liquids
such as petrol or acetone to clean the machine. Never rinse the inside of the
machine with the lid open. All detachable parts except for the water
reservoir and the insulated jug are dishwasher-proof.
2x descaling, 2x ushing
Descale the machine when the CALC light starts ashing. Use liquid Senseo
descaler only. The descaling procedure consists of two descaling cycles and
two ushing cycles. Each cycle lasts 5 minutes. For each descaling cycle, you
have to pour half a bottle of descaling liquid into the water reservoir and ll it
up with fresh water. Use the 1-cup pod holder with a used pod or the thin
descaling lter during the rst descaling cycle and use the 2-cup pod holder
with a used pod or the thick descaling lter during the second descaling
cycle. Do not interrupt the descaling cycles and do not switch o the
machine before you have performed the two ushing cycles. The CALC light
continues to ash until the descaling procedure is completed correctly.

nicht in Gebrauch, lassen Sie vor dem nächsten Aufbrühen sauberes kaltes
Wasser durchlaufen. Um die Maschine durchzuspülen, füllen Sie den
Wassertank mit sauberem kaltem Wasser, stellen Sie eine Schüssel oder
zwei Tassen unter den Auslauf, und drücken Sie mehrmals die 2-Tassen-
Taste, damit heißes Wasser durchläuft, bis der Wassertank leer ist.

removed the pod
holder.
If you do not remove the

preheated the

weaker than
expected.

in the insulated jug
when you started
brewing lter coee.
Always make sure that there
is no water in the jug when
you start brewing coee.
You have not used
enough pre-ground
coee.
Use one heaped measuring
spoon of pre-ground coee
per cup for stronger coee.
Water leaks from
the coee machine.
You overlled the
water reservoir.
Do not ll the water reservoir
beyond the MAX level.
The sieve in the center
of the pod holder may
be clogged.
Check the pod holder. If
the sieve is clogged, use a
washing-up brush to unclog
the sieve. If you cannot
clean it properly with the
washing-up brush, put the
pod holder in the machine
and descale the machine.
The sealing ring is
stuck under the edge
of the distribution disk
in the lid.
Check if the sealing ring is
stuck under the edge of
the distribution disk. If it is,
pull it out from under the
distribution disk carefully.
You forgot to place
the collector ring.
If you forget to place the
collector ring, water comes
out of the lid of the machine
instead of passing through
the pod.
I cannot open the
lid.
A vacuum has formed
under the lid.
Switch o the coee
machine. Pull up the lever
and wait 24 hours before
you open the lid. You may
need to use some force.
Always make sure the
pod holders are clean and
the center of the sieve is
not clogged to prevent a
vacuum.
It takes longer than
before to brew
lter coee.
You have to descale
the machine.
Follow the instructions to
descale the machine.
You left a pod holder
in the machine.
Remove the pod holder.
There is still water
left in the water
reservoir after
brewing lter
coee.
This is normal. The lter coee brewing
process does not use up
all the water in the water
reservoir. This is normal.
I do not get a small
cup of stronger
coee after double
pressing the 1-cup
or 2-cup button.
You have double
pressed the button
too fast or you have
waited longer than 3
seconds after pressing
the button for the rst
time.
You can get a stronger
coee if you double press
the 1-cup or 2-cup button
within 3 seconds. The light
in the button shines less
bright when the selection of
stronger coee is successful.
Flush before rst use
Flush the machine before rst use. After the ushing cycle (which only takes
approx. 2 minutes), the machine is ready for brewing coee.

It is possible to brew even shorter stronger cups of coee by double pressing
the 1-cup or 2-cup button.
