ENGLISH Introduction Dear customer, congratulations on acquiring the new Philips Cucina fryer.
ENGLISH 7 Safety cut-out This appliance is equipped with a safety cut-out that switches the appliance off if it overheats. This may happen if there is not enough oil or fat in the fryer or if blocks of solid fat are being melted in the fryer, which will prevent the heating element from being able to give off its heat. ◗ If the fryer doesn't work anymore, let the oil or fat cool down and turn to your Philips dealer or a service centre authorised by Philips.
ENGLISH Make sure the mains cord does not come into contact with hot parts of the appliance. 2 Switch the fryer on by pressing the on/off switch. The pilot light in the on/off switch and the temperature pilot light go on. 3 Set the temperature control to the required temperature (150-175cC) (fig. 4). For information about which temperature to select, check the package of the food to be fried or the table at the end of these instructions for use.
ENGLISH 9 3 If the preset time is not correct, you can erase it by pressing the timer button for 2 seconds at the moment the timer starts counting downs (i.e. when the time starts to blink). Keep the button pressed until '00' appears on the display. You can now set the correct frying time. 4 When the preset time has elapsed you will hear an audible signal. After 10 seconds the audible signal will be repeated. You can stop the audible signal by pressing the timer button.
ENGLISH 5 Remove the water tray from the fryer and empty it (fig. 15). 6 Lift the inner bowl out of the appliance and remove the oil or fat (fig. 16). ◗ All parts except the housing with electrical components and the heating element can be cleaned in the diswasher or in hot water with some washing-up liquid. 7 Clean the housing with a moist cloth (with some washing-up liquid) and/or kitchen paper. Do not immerse the fryer housing in water.

Home-made French fries You will make the tastiest and crispiest French fries in the following way: 1 Use firm potatoes and cut them into sticks. Rinse the sticks with cold water. This will prevent them from sticking to each other during frying. B Dry the sticks thoroughly.

FRANÇAIS 16 Coupe-circuit La friteuse est équipée d'un coupe-circuit qui arrête l'appareil en cas de surchauffe. FRANÇAIS 17 Utilisation de l'appareil Friture Faites attention: Pendant la cuisson, de la vapeur chaude se dégage par le filtre. 1 Déroulez entièrement le cordon d'alimentation et branchez-le (fig. 3). Assurez-vous que le cordon d'alimentation n'est pas en contact avec les parties chaudes de l'appareil. 2 Mettez en marche la friteuse à l'aide de l'interrupteur marche/arrêt. Le témoin de l'interrupteur marche/arrêt et le témoin de température s'allument.
FRANÇAIS Minuteur (HD6155 uniquement) Le minuteur affiche la fin de la période de friture mais n'arrête pas l'appareil. Réglage du minuteur 1 Appuyez sur le bouton du minuteur pour régler le temps de cuisson en minutes (fig. 9). Le temps réglé sera affiché à l'écran. 2 Maintenez appuyé le bouton et les minutes défilent rapidement. Relâchez le bouton lorsque le temps de cuisson nécessaire est atteint. - La période maximale qui peut être programmée est de 99 minutes.

N'utilisez pas d'agents abrasifs ou de tampons à récurer pour nettoyer la friteuse. 1 Pour enlever le filtre du couvercle, tirez l'ergot du filtre vers le haut tout en appuyant sur l'onglet au-dessous de l'ergot (fig. 13). 2 Ouvrez le couvercle. 3 Pour ôter le couvercle, appuyez sur l'onglet de libération du couvercle (1) et retirez-le (2) (fig. 14). 4 Retirez le panier. 5 Retirez le ramasse-gouttes et videz-le (fig. 15).

Avant de jeter la graisse solide usagée, laissez-la se solidifier dans la friteuse (sans le panier), puis retirez-la à l'aide d'une spatule pour l'envelopper dans du papier journal.
FRANÇAIS 21 Eliminer les mauvais goûts Certains aliments, notamment les poissons, peuvent donner une saveur déplaisante à l'huile ou à la graisse. Pour ne pas affecter le goût de l'huile ou de la graisse: 1 Chauffez l'huile ou la graisse à 160cC. 2 Mettez deux fines tranches de pain ou des brins de persil dans l'huile. 3 Attendez qu'il n'y ait plus de bulles d'air, puis enlevez le pain ou le persil de la friteuse à l'aide d'une spatule. L'huile ou la graisse a de nouveau un goût neutre.
