OPERATING THE SYSTEM English Selecting the Equalizer Display Sound Control You can select the desired equalizer display for the system. You must not press the DSC or INCREDIBLE SURROUND button on the system before using the JOG control. • Adjust the JOG control to select the desired Equalizer Display, NORMAL, TOP DOWN, or NITE MODE. ™ The selected display will be shown. You can manually select the DBB setting that best suits your listening environment. CD / VCD / MP3-CD English Discs for playback This system can playback all audio CD, finalized audio CD-Recorder and MP3-CD format discs. Note: – For mixed mode discs, only one mode will be selected for playback depending on the recording format. 1 Press VCD to select VCD/CD/MP3-CD mode. 2 Press OPEN•CLOSE. ™ The disc carousel tray slides out. 3 Load a disc with the printed side up in the right tray. • You can load another disc in the left tray. • To load the third disc, press the DISC CHANGE button.
Searching for a particular passage during playback Programming Tracks • Press à or á to select 4 different search speed. ™ "FRX1" ; "FRX2" ; "FRX3" or "FRX4" is displayed on the TV screen when you select a fast rewind search. ™ "FFX1" ; "FFX2" ; "FFX3" or "FFX4" is displayed on the TV screen when you select a fast forward search. ™ Normal playback will begin at the end of the fast rewinding or forwarding of the selected track.

Note: – The program will be erased when the system is disconnected from the power supply. The system is switched to standby mode when you change source or when you change the program disc. Repeat (only on remote control) You can play the current track or the current disc repeatedly during playback. 1 Press REPEAT on the remote control to select the various repeat modes.
Resume Zoom This feature is also applicable to audio CD (except for MP3-CD). This feature enables you to view a still picture frame in an enlarge mode. 1 Press Ç to stop playback. 2 Press RESUME on the remote control to start playback again from where you have stopped. ™ "RESUME" appears on the display. CLOCK English VCD/CD/MP3-CD Synchro Start Recording 1 Load a blank tape into tape deck 2 and a disc into a disc tray. 2 Press VCD to select VCD/CD/MP3-CD mode. • You can program the tracks in the order you want them to be recorded (see Programming Tracks). If not, select the disc by pressing VCD (CD 1•2•3) and the tracks are recorded according to the order on the selected disc. 3 Press REC to start recording. ™ The REC starts flashing. • Disc will start playback automatically. 4 Press Ç to stop recording.
TIMER 5 Press CLOCK/TIMER again to store the setting. ™ The clock starts. Timer Setting • To exit without storing the setting, press Ç on the system. Notes: – During clock setting, if no button is pressed within 90 seconds, the system will exit clock setting mode automatically. – When a power interruption occurs, the clock setting is erased. • The system can switch on to VCD, TUNER, or TAPE 2 mode automatically at a preset time. It can serve as an alarm to wake you up.

TROUBLESHOOTING Maintenance Cleaning the Cabinet • Use a soft cloth slightly moistened with a mild detergent solution. Do not use a solution containing alcohol, spirits, ammonia or abrasives. Cleaning Discs • When a disc becomes dirty, clean it with a cleaning cloth. Wipe the disc from the center out. • Do not use solvents such as benzine, thinner, commercially available cleaners, or antistatic spray intended for analog records.
TROUBLESHOOTING English Radio Reception General Poor radio reception. • The signal is too weak. ™ Adjust the antenna. ™ Connect an external antenna for better reception. • The TV or VCR is too close to the stereo system. ™ Separate the stereo system from the TV or VCR. System does not react when any button is pressed. • Electrostatic discharge. ™ Press STANDBY ON to switch the system off. Remove the AC power plug from the wall outlet, then reconnect the power plug and switch on the system again.
