How to install a USB device on a PC with Windows 98

Second Edition for the first time?

Æ You only need this driver for your USB storage device when using Windows 98 Second Edition.

Visit http://www.philips.com/storageupdates

Go to your product page and find the drivers at the bottom of the page.

Choose “Save this program to disk” and

“OK”.

Click on “Save”.

The file will be saved on your desktop.

Click “Open”..

If this does not appear, double click the

“Philips_Drivers.exe” on your desktop.

Click “Unzip”.

We advise not to change the folder.

The files are now ready for use.

Click “OK” and “Close”.

Attach your Philips USB storage device to a

free USB port on your computer.

We advise to use a USB2.0 HiSpeed Port to enjoy all

capabilities of your Philips USB storage device.

8 9 10 The Add New Hardware Wizard will pop up. Click “Next”. Click “Next”. Click “Browse”. Go to C:\Windows\Temp\Philips_Drivers 11 Click “OK”. When this screen closes, click “Next”. If you saved the “Philips_Drivers.exe” in another location in step 5, go to this location. 12 Click “Next”. Click “Finish”. 13 V05 The installation was successful! When the “Add New Hardware Wizard” pops up again, please wait some seconds. Your device will be recognized automatically next time.
