can also take the appliance to a Philips service centre. The staff of this
centre will remove the batteries for you and will dispose of them in
an environmentally safe way (Fig. 25).
Removing the rechargeable batteries
Onlyremovetherechargeablebatteriesiftheyarecompletelyempty.
Neverlettherechargeablebatteriescomeintocontactwithmetal.
Remove the rechargeable batteries in the following way.
1 Letthevacuumcleanerrununtilitstops.
Try to switch on the appliance again to check if the batteries are really
empty. If the motor starts, repeat the procedure.
2 Loosenandremovethescrews.Openthevacuumcleaner(Fig.26).
3 Putthemotorunitwiththebatteriesstillattachedinalargebowl
with3litresofwaterand3teaspoonsofsalt.
- Make sure the whole motor unit is immersed. Add more water and
salt according to the above proportion (1 teaspoon salt to 1 litre of
water) if needed.
- Leave the motor unit and the batteries in the bowl for 24 hours.
4 Cuttheconnectingwiresonebyoneandremovethe
batteries(Fig.27).
