Software Upgrade

1. Introduction
The upgrade version of this software is Version 18
This software can be used to upgrade the following Philips DVD Players :
DVP520/00, DVP520/02, DVP520/05
2. Key Features added in this software version
This software version includes:
• Fixed the set not responding to the command NEXT and PREV of Remote Control from Philips TV
29PT5642.
3. Software Upgrade Disc Preparation
Tools Required
You will need the following items :
• a personal computer
• a CD-R/RW drive and writing application software
• a blank CD-R
4. Software Version Verification Procedure
It’s important to write down the Software Version information of your DVD player before you start the
upgrade procedure. This information is also useful in case you need to call Philips Customer Care Center.
1. POWER ON the set.
2. Press SYSTEM MENU key to enter SETUP menu
3. Press < or > to navigate to GENERAL menu
4. Press keys 1,3,7,9 successively. Version table will be displayed on screen.
5. How to download the software to your computer
1) Right mouse button click on the file and click ‘Save Target As… ’ to save the zip file into your
PC.
2) Unzip the .zip file and extract files into your PC.
Do not change the filename – DVP520.BIN
