Step 1: Basic Recorder Connections (continued)
Option 4: Using Component
video socket / Connecting to a
Progressive Scan TV
If your TV accepts progressive scan
signals, connect the recorder to your TV
using the component video sockets in
order to enjoy the progressive scan
feature.
Connect the component video cables
(red/ blue/green - not supplied) from the
Y P
B PR sockets on the recorder to the
corresponding component video input
sockets (usually labelled as Y Pb/Cb Pr/Cr
or YUV) on the TV.
Note:
To enable Y Pb Pr (YUV) connection, you
must set the recorder’s video output
correctly. To access the recorder’s
settings for the rst time, basic video
connection (Scart, S-Video or CVBS) is
required.
A Connect this recorder to your TV using
Scart, S-Video or Video (CVBS)
connection.
B Complete chapters “Step 2: Optional
Connections” and “Step 3: Installation
and Set-up” in this user manual, then
change the video output setting as
follows:
1) Press HOME.
2) Select { Settings } > { Video
output } > { Active video output }
> { Comp. video (YUV) } and press
OK to con rm.
To activate Progressive Scan output, read
chapter “Other information - Setting up
Progressive Scan feature” for details.
C Switch your TV to the correct viewing
channel for this connection.
