This does not work with all XV-501BK models!

JVC XV-511BK

Make sure there is no Disc in the tray. Shut off the unit and unplug it from the AC outlet. Press and Hold the "Play"

and "Open/Close" keys, simultaneously on the player and not the remote control. While holding these keys, plug the

AC cord back into the outlet. (TEST and CPU ver# will appear on the display). Press DVD Menu twice on the remote.

When the display reads 000 5858 use the up and down buttons to change the 000 to 02E. Using the Left and Right

arrow buttons, change the last four digits until they read 0000 for Region Free, 0101 for Region 1, 0202 for Region 2

or 0404 for Region 4. Press Enter on the player. Press Standby and wait 5 seconds. Press Standby again. Your player

is now set to the region you requested. If you find some titles do not play on the region 0 setting, you may have to

hard select the appropriate region.

JVC XV-515

Locate wire jumper B532 on the printed circuit, near the front panel. It can be found underneath the connector linking

this board to the above one. Cut the jumper and turn the power on. Enter password 5963. Turn off the machine and on

again.

JVC XV-522

Make sure there is no disk in the tray. Unplug mains AC. on the unit press and hold "play" and "open/close". While

holding these keys plug in mains power. Release these keys and test appears on the display. Press "3D-phonic". Press

menu twice on the remote. Display reads 000 5858 use down buttons to 000 to 02e 9 change last 4 digits to the

following 0000 for region free 0101 for region 1 0202 for region 2 press enter on the remote. Press standby and wait 5

seconds. Press standby again and the player is now set to the region that u desire If this doesn't work try again with

pushing the 3d-phonic button

JVC XV-2000

1. Power the player off.

2. Press and hold 'DVD Menu' and 'On Screen' on the player.

3. Power the player back on.

4. Release both buttons.

5. Press Standby. The word TEST should appear next to a number.

6. Press DVD Menu twice on the player.

7. When the display reads 000 5858 use the up and down buttons to change the 000 to 02E.

8. Using the Left and Right arrow buttons, change the last four digits until they read 0000 for Region Free, 0001 for

Region 1, 0002 for Region 2 or 0004 for Region 4.

9. Press Enter on the player.

10. Press Standby.

11. Press Standby again.

Converting to Multi-Region if the above does not work:

1. Turn off the machine by press Power from the front panel for about 5 seconds. (Not Standby mode).

2. On the front panel of the machine, press the 'DVD Menu' and the 'On Screen' buttons at the same time. While

holding these two buttons down; Turn the "POWER" switch on and release the two buttons.

3. Press Standby.

4. The Display screen now should read "TEST 2", "TEST 4" or "TEST 6". Different for region.

5. Press "DVD Menu" twice.

6. The Display screen should now read "000 5858"

7. Press Up OR Down to move the cursor, until the first three digits on the display read "02E"

8. Press Right OR Left cursor on the front panel of the machine until the last two digits read "0000" for playing most

of the code or "0101, 0202, 0404, 0808, 2020" for the region

9. Press Enter.
