1. Power On the player.
2. Press and hold Stop, Open/Close, Skip Forward and Skip Back on the player simultaneously, and hold for 3
seconds.
3. A hidden menu should appear.
4. Release Stop, Open/Close, Skip forward and Skip Back buttons.
5. Select Region Number from the hidden menu.
6. Select Free for region free.
NB: DO NOT make any selections from the Initialized Type menu as it can leave your machine inoperable. If you do
by accident, return to this menu and select option 1.
7. Exit the menu.
To convert this player to Multi-Region if the above does not work:
1. Power On the player.
2. Press and hold Stop, Open/Close and Skip Forward on the player simultaneously, and hold for 3 seconds.
3. A hidden menu should appear.
4. Release Stop, Open/Close, Skip forward and Skip Back buttons.
5. Select Region Number from the hidden menu.
6. Select Free for region free.
NB: DO NOT make any selections from the Initialized Type menu as it can leave your machine inoperable. If you do
by accident, return to this menu and select option 1.
7. Exit the menu.

1: Power on the player.
2: Press and hold Stop, Open/Close, Skip and Stop on the player, simultaneously, and hold for 3 seconds.
3. A hidden menu with settings for region code and colour system settings.
4: Choose "Regional number" - in the submenu choose "Free" (or any of the numbers if you wish).
Orion DV-KT
1: Turn the power on and ensure there is no disk in the tray.
2: Press and hold Stop, Open/Close, and Skip Right on the player, simultaneously, and hold for 5 seconds.
3. A hidden menu with settings for region code and colour system settings.
4: Press 0 for region free.
For some, this setup does not appear to work
Orion HCINEMA 100XX
1: Turn the power on and Open the disk tray.
2: Press 8, 1, 2, 3, 8 on the remote.
3. A window should appear on your TV.
4: Press Play. The disk tray should close.
5. The player is now PERMANENTLY Region free.
All Oritron Models!
Firmware Check:
1. Press Menu.
2. Press Menu again to see the firmware reversion.
Different models have different ways of accessing the hidden menus. Some models use '1' instead of '9' in the
sequence to gain access.
European models with firmware 003 tend to use key '1'
US models with firmware 003 and 002 tend to use key '9'.
Firmware 005 may not be able to access any region free settings.
