Software Upgrade

Step 2: Upgrade the firmware
1. Click on the Download icon at the top of the screen to download the new firmware package
to your computer.
2. On the computer, extract/unzip the firmware upgrade folder from the downloaded firmware
package. You will have a file with “.h16” in the end.
Note: DO NOT rename the file.
3. Format the USB flash drive.
“FAT 32” file system is preferred when you format the drive.
4. Copy the file into the root directory in the USB flash drive.
5. Put 2-3 MP3 files into the root directory in the USB flash drive.
Note: Only files with filetype MP3 are accepted. Do not put other types of file.
6. Turn on the device.
7. Insert the USB flash drive into the USB socket.
8. The device would play the MP3 files. The screen displays “READING”.
9. Press and hold <DISP> and <1> buttons simultaneously for at least 3 seconds.
10. Firmware upgrade would be started automatically. The screen displays “UPDATING”.
Important:
DO NOT remove the USB flash drive during upgrade.
DO NOT press any button during upgrade.
DO NOT interrupt the power supply during upgrade.
11. The upgrade process takes about 1-2 minutes. When upgrade is completed, the device
would be switched off automatically.
12. Remove the USB flash drive.
13. Switch on the device.
Step 3: Confirm upgrade successfulness
1. Go over “Step 1 Check the current firmware version” to verify if the new firmware is
correctly upgraded.
2. If the latest firmware has not been installed, repeat ‘Step 2 Upgrade the firmware’ and
‘Step 3 Confirm upgrade successfulness’.
