Instructions for coee machines without an
automatic descaling program
1 Pour the entire Philips descaling solution into the appliance water tank,
then ll the tank with water.
2 Turn on the appliance and dispense 2 cups of water through the steam
wand. (Approximately 150ml each).
3 Switch o the main power button or the appliance.
4 Let the descaling solution sit for 15-20 minutes.
5 After step 4 is completed, repeat steps 2 and 3 until there is no descaling
solution left in the water tank, letting the solution sit for only 3 minutes
between repetitions.
6 Rinse the water tank with clean water and ll it again.
7 Rinse the appliance circuits by dispensing about 2 litres of water through
the suitable steam/hot water wand. Dispense 2 litres of water from the
dispensing spout (only where applicable). If this is not possible, brew 3
cups of coee (approx. 150ml each) and discard this coee. If this is not
possible, brew 9 cups of espresso (approx. 50ml each) and discard this
coee.
8 Take out the brewing group (only for automatic machines) and wash
it with clear water. Specic instructions for espresso machines with
an automatic descaling program are described in the respective user
manuals.
