Software history (BDP7700)
The latest software improves the below:
NOTE: Each release contains all solutions identified in the earlier version.
Note:
The filename of the bin file may NOT necessary be the same as the model number.
System Software Version 4.02
• Fix hang up issue.
• In compliance with new AACS requirements, Blu-ray playback via CVBS output is now
disabled. Please watch your Blu-ray movies via HDMI connection.
System Software Version 3.71
• Improve playability of 3D discs such as Prometheus, Rio 3D, Ice Age 3 and Ice Age 4.

Improve CEC feature – if the player is connec
ted to a TV via HDMI connection, switching on the
player would also switch on the TV.

• Fix for the following potential hang-up issues:
o When factory restore is triggered from setup menu.
Going into standby.
Changing from “Browse PC” to Blu-ray/SmartTV playback (and vice-versa).
o Potential hang-up while upgrading SW via USB.
• Fixes an issue where Philips TV’s receive digital stereo audio via HDMI connection. (Please

• Improvements for Russian on screen display:
o Add ID3 tags in Russian
o Keep Russia OSD in Skype after Standby

• German translation for Skype.
Note: After upgrading the firmware, follow the steps below to reset the device to factory settings:
1. Switch off the player.
2. Switch on the player.
3. Go to Setup Menu (Do not go to Easylink / Preferences).
4. On the remote control press UP to scrolled to ADVANCED.
5. In ADVANCED, select RESTORE FACTORY DEFAULT.
6. The player would automatically restart.
