You can also add a new device or access the [Setup] menu for more settings. In the Options menu , you can select settings related to what is shown on screen. For example, while you watch a channel, you can mark it as a favorite.
The HDMI connection offers the best picture and sound quality. If you connect a device to this TV, access the Home menu to add it. Press > [Add your devices], then follow the on-screen instructions. Ensure that you select the correct TV connector which the device is connected to. Read more in Help > Use your TV > Basic TV Menus > Add your devices (Page 17). If you connect an EasyLink (HDMI-CEC) compliant device to the TV, it is automatically added to the Home menu.

Never expose the TV to rain or water. Never place liquid containers, such as vases, near the TV. If liquids are spilt on or into the TV, disconnect the TV from the power outlet immediately. Multimedia In addition to normal analog TV broadcasts, your TV can receive digital terrestrial (DVBT) broadcasts. Where available, your TV can also receive digital cable (DVB-C) and digital radio broadcast. DVB (Digital Video Broadcasting) gives you better picture and better sound quality. Some broadcasters also have several audio (speech) and/or teletext languages available with digital broadcast.

Open the battery cover on the back of the remote control to insert the batteries (Type AAA-LR03-1.5V or Type CR2032-3V). (Options): Accesses options for the current activity or selection. 9. +/- (Volume) and (Mute): Increases or decreases volume; mutes or restores audio. Remove the batteries if you are not using the remote control for a long time.

Turn off this feature for a dynamic and uniform Ambilight color. [TV switch off]: Selects how Ambilight switches off when the TV is switched off. [Lounge light mood]: Selects a lounge light mode. This setting is applied when lounge light is enabled in standby mode. [Scenea lounge light]: Switch on or off Scenea lounge light when Scenea is enabled.

Net TV offers Internet services and websites tailored for your TV. You can visit popular sites, view infotainment, rent a movie from a video store or watch a TV show you have missed. Net TV pages The most popular websites in your country have tailored their web pages for use on TV.
1. Agree to the Terms of Use. 2. Register for Net TV. 3. Switch on parental control. How to register To register, you need an email address and a PC connected to the Internet. If you skip the registration during the initial setup, you can register from the Net TV Start page later. To start the Net TV registration, enter your email address on screen. To open the onscreen keyboard, highlight the text field, then press OK. Enter the characters one by one. Select [Register] and press OK.
You can mark up to 12 services as favourites. All your favourite services are shown in the Net TV Start page. In Services, favourite services are marked with a star. Only Net TV services can be marked as favorites. Advertisements and Internet websites cannot be marked. Unmark favourites To Unmark a favourite, select the icon of a favourite service and press (Options) and select [Unmark favourite]. Disable parental control To switch off Parental control, press (Options) and select [Disable parental control].
With this TV, you can rent a video from an online video store. 1. Open a video store. You may need to register or enter your log-in. 2. Select a video. 3. Make the online payment. 4. Download the video. 5. Start watching. What you need To rent and download a video, you need a high-speed Internet connection to the TV. Read more about connecting to the network in Setup the TV > Setup network (Page 38). You also need an SD memory card to insert into the TV SD card slot.
Open Online TV on a channel To open the Online TV service of a TV channel directly, press the Red key. If this service is available, the TV will open the page of the broadcaster. The availability of Online TV services varies by country.

To switch Teletext 2.5 on or off 1. Press . 2. Select [Setup] > [TV settings] > [Preferences] > [Text 2.5] > [On] or [Off], then press OK. Favorite channels Add or remove channels NonPublish 1. Use subtitles Child lock 1. Switch the TV to an analog TV channel. 2. Press , then select [Text] and press OK. To prevent children from watching TV, you can lock the TV or block age rated programmes. Access multimedia Browse USB NonPublish You can view photos or play music and videos on TV from a USB storage device. Caution: Philips is not responsible if the USB storage device is not supported nor is it responsible for damage or loss of data from the device. You can access the USB content browser using one of the following methods: • When watching TV, connect the USB device to the USB port on the side of your TV. • Press . Select [Browse USB], then press OK.
• • • • • [Play once]: Plays the file once. [Shuffle off] / [Shuffle on]: Enables or disables random display of pictures in the slideshow. [Slideshow speed]: Sets the display time for each picture in the slideshow. [Slideshow transition]: Sets the transition from one picture to the next. [Set as Scenea]: Sets the selected picture as wallpaper on TV. Listen to music Press the Navigation buttons to select a music track, then press OK. • Press / to fast rewind or fast forward a track.
Red - [Off]: Turn off visually impaired audio. • Yellow - [Headphones]: Hear visually impaired audio from headphones only. • Green - [Speakers]: Hear visually impaired audio from speakers only. • Blue - [Speakers + headphones]: Hear visually impaired audio from speakers and headphones only. 4. Press to exit. Note: The green and yellow buttons are not applicable if EasyLink Remote Control is enabled. • • • • • [PC mode]: Enabled by default if you select [Computer] in the home menu. If enabled, you can select [Picture format] > [Unscaled] which provides maximum detail for display of PC content. If a PC is connected via HDMI or VGA, this option is enabled by default. [Light sensor]: Enables dynamic adjustment of the screen display to match lighting conditions. [Picture format]: Changes the picture format. [Screen edges]: Changes the picture size. [Picture shift]: Adjusts the position of the picture.
Reorder channels NonPublish After installation, you may want to reorder the channel list to suit your preference. 1. While watching TV, press . 2. Select [Channel list], then press OK. 3. In the channel list, press . 4. Select [Reorder], then press OK. 5. Select the channel to reorder, move it to the desired location, then press OK. 6. Select [Insert] to insert the channel into the desired location, [Swap] to swap location with another channel or [Cancel] to cancel the reorder. 7. Press OK to activate.
1. In the [Channel installation] menu, select [Automatic installation], then press OK. 2. Start the update and select [Update channels]. The update may take a few minutes. • • Other options Select audio language If the TV channel has multiple or dual sound broadcast, you can select the preferred audio language. 1. While watching TV, press . • [Audio language]: Select the audio language for digital channels. • [Dual I-II]: Select the audio language for analog channels.
• The Navigation buttons or Numeric buttons to manually enter the channel frequency. The Navigation buttons to select [Search]. Press OK to automatically search for the next channel. 3. When the correct channel frequency is entered, select [Done], then press OK. 4. Select [Store current channel] to store the fine tuned channel as the current channel number, or select [Store as new channel] to store it as a new channel number.
• [Volume - Visually impaired] (UK only): Adjusts the volume of the visually impaired audio. [Preferred audio format]: Select [Standard] to receive standard audio format (MPEG). Select [Advanced] to receive advanced audio formats (AAC, EAC-3 or AC-3 if available). • [Mono/Stereo]: Select [Mono] or [Stereo] if stereo broadcasting is available. 4. Press to exit. Tip: Set a secondary language in the same menu. You receive this language if the primary language is unavailable. • Menu language NonPublish 1.
NonPublish Connect the router to the TV using a network cable and switch on the router before you start the network installation. To start the wired network installation, close the user manual, press > [Setup] > [Connect to network] and press OK. Follow the instructions on screen to install the wired network. The TV constantly searches for a network connection. If asked for, agree to the End User License Agreement. Find the latest End User License Agreement at www.philips.com.

This ensures easy connection with any available network. If you have problems with the network connection, you might want to adjust the settings so that they are appropriate for your home network.
In Windows Media Player, select Library from the menu and select Add to Library. In the Media Sharing window, check the Share my Media and click OK. In the Add to Library window, select My folders and those of others that I can access, and click the Advanced Options button. If no network connection is found, and you are unable to check this box, click the Networking button to show the Network and Sharing Center window,... Set Network discovery to On. Set File sharing to On.
Change other settings Energy efficient settings 1. While watching TV, press the green button. 2. Select one of the following settings, then press OK: • [Energy saving]: Applies a combination of picture settings to reduce energy consumption. • [Mute screen]: Turns off the TV display. 'Muting' the screen saves energy if you just want to listen to audio from the TV. • [Light sensor]: To save energy, the built-in ambient light sensor lowers the brightness of the TV screen when the surrounding light darkens.
Update software TV software NonPublish 1. Press . 2. Select [Setup] > [Software settings] > [Current software info], then press OK. The version of the current software is displayed. To update the software, use one of these options: a. update from digital broadcast. b. update with USB. c. update from the Internet. For more information, see the following pages. NonPublish If available, your TV can receive software updates via digital broadcasts.
1. Insert the empty USB flash drive into a USB connector on your PC. 2. On your PC, create a folder named ‘upgrades’ in the root directory of the USB flash drive. 3. In your web browser, navigate to www.philips.com/support. 4. At the Philips Support site, find your product and locate the Help file for your TV. The Help file (a *.upg file) is compressed into a *.zip archive. 5.
First connections Power NonPublish Be sure that the power plug in the wall socket is accessible at all times. When disconnecting the power cable, always pull the plug, never the cable. Although this TV has a very low standby power consumption, switch off the TV using the power switch on the bottom of the TV if you do not use the TV for a long time. Antenna NonPublish Locate the antenna connector at the back of the TV. Insert the antenna cable securely into the antenna connector.
Add your devices When you have connected a device to the TV, always add this device as an item in the home menu. With this item in the home menu, you can easily switch to view from this device. To add a new device, press , then select [Add your devices]. Follow the on-screen instructions. Match the Y Pb Pr connector colours with the cable plugs when you connect. Y Pb Pr can handle High Definition (HD) TV signals. HDMI An HDMI connection has the best picture and sound quality.

Home Theatre System First, use an HDMI cable to connect the device to the TV. Then, use a digital audio cinch cable to connect the device to the TV. Audio and video synchronization (sync) If the sound does not match with the video on screen, you can set a delay on most DVD Home Theatre Systems to match the sound and video. EN 50 EasyLink To automatically mute the TV speakers when content is played from your Home Theatre System, enable EasyLink.

Connect more devices Game console The most practical connections for a game console are at the side of the TV. However, more connectors are available at the back of the TV if needed. English The most practical connections for a game console are at the side of the TV. If you cannot use the side connector, use an HDMI or the EXT2 (YPbPr and Audio L/R) cable to connect the game console to the back of the TV.(On certain models, EXT2 is labelled EXT3).
Dig. camera To view pictures on your digital camera, connect it to the USB connector at the side of the TV. Switch on the digital camera. If the content of your camera does not appear automatically, you may need to enable Picture Transfer Protocol (PTP) on the camera. Refer to the camera's user manual for instructions. Dig. camcorder The most practical connection for a camcorder is at the side of the TV.
NonPublish Before using a SCART digital channel decoder, select the channel to decode and assign the decoder to the SCART connector. 1. Press . 2. Select [Setup] > [Channel settings] > [Decoder] > [Channel]. 3. Set the channel you want to decode. 4. Select [Status], then the location of the decoder. 5. Press OK.
HDMI cable and HDMI-DVI adaptor VGA cable Use Philips EasyLink Enable or disable EasyLink NonPublish Philips EasyLink provides several features that enable you to control devices that are connected via HDMI. Connected devices must support the HDMI-CEC standard, and must be properly configured for EasyLink to work. Note: HDMI-CEC functionality is known by other names on other brands. Some examples are Anynet (Samsung), Aquos Link (Sharp) or BRAVIA Sync (Sony).
Auto subtitle shift Auto subtitle shift displays subtitles from Philips EasyLink compliant Home Theatre Systems over the video image on your TV. The video image is thus stretched across the whole of your TV display, without the need to create a separate subtitle bar at the bottom of the screen. To enable auto subtitle shift 1. Press . 2. Select [Setup] > [TV settings] > [EasyLink] > [Auto subtitle shift]. 3. Select [On], then press OK to activate.
• • • • (Previous) / (Next): Searches backwards and forwards on the connected device. Numeric buttons: When EasyLink is enabled, selects a title, chapter or track. (Options): Displays the menu of the connected device. When is pressed, the TV menu is displayed. (Standby): Press to enable one-touch standby. This switches the TV and the connected device to standby. Other EasyLink buttons are available via OnScreen Remote Control (OSRC). To access the OSRC 1. While watching a connected device, press . 2.
The HDMI 1 connector is HDMI Audio Return Channel (ARC) compliant. Use it to output digital audio to a HDMI Home Theatre System. HDMI ARC allows you to use Philips EasyLink to output TV audio directly to a connected audio device, without the need for an additional digital audio cable. Be sure that the device is HDMI-CEC and ARC compliant, and that the TV is connected to the device using a HDMI cable attached to HDMI ARC connectors.
Access CAM services NonPublish Insert and format 1. After inserting and activating the CAM, press . 2. Select [Common interface], then press OK. 3. Select the CAM provider and press OK. Watching a CAM service If a CAM is inserted and subscription fees are paid, the TV shows the programme from the digital TV service provider. The applications, functions, the content and the onscreen messages vary per CAM service.

• Check that the external device or source is properly connected. There is sound but no picture: Check that the picture settings are correctly set. There is poor TV reception from an antenna connection: • Check that the antenna is properly connected to the TV. • Loud speakers, unearthed audio devices, neon lights, high buildings and other large objects can influence reception quality. If possible, try to improve the reception quality by changing the antenna direction or moving devices away from the TV.
If you use an HDMI-to-DVI adapter or HDMI to DVI cable, check that an additional audio cable is connected to AUDIO L/R or AUDIO IN (mini-jack only). You cannot use EasyLink features: Check that your HDMI devices are HDMICEC compatible. EasyLink features only work with devices that are HDMI-CEC compatible. If a HDMI-CEC compliant audio device is connected to the TV and the TV does not display any mute or volume icon when the volume is muted, increased or decreased.
