About this Handbook This is a handbook to help you with the installation and operation of your new menu TV, With a menu TV, menus can be called up on the screen. These menus provide information either about operations to be carried out or about functions that you can select. This handbook consists of two parts : Installation This part helps you with installing your TV and with locating and storing your TV channels. To do this, follow the directions of the INSTALLATION menu very closely and step by step.
Preparation Place the TV on a solid surface. For ventilation, fave a space of at least 5 cm. free all around the set, This TV requires a mains voltage of 220 V 240 insert the mains pig in the wall socket. Hook supplied for euro cable, see Peripherals Connecting, p. 20 " insert the aerial plug tightly into the aerial socket ™™ on the back of the TV with an aerial cable of good quality.

-l step O Searching for and storing TV channels After you have switched on your TV and selected your menu language, you can search for and store your TV channels, To search for and store your TV channels, you need the INSTALLATION menu. Within the installation menu you yourself assign each of these TV channels a number and a name of your own choice, which are then used to call the channels up for viewing. Open the control panel cover on the front of the 22083 s s Press Install on the TV control panel.
I s step o 4 Searching for a TV channel This can be done in two different ways : Installation I Either automatic searching or else entering a frequency yourself. ar The TV itself searches for the channel, o Press the green key b. ©SEARCHING appears and the TV is searching for a channel, > The frequency increases until a channel is found, Go on 1o step ¢ if you want to store the channel! that has been found.
step s < Entering the programmer number Now you yourself must assign a number of your choice to the TV channel located. In this way you decide for yourself the order of all your TV channels. With the assigned programmer number you can call up your TV channel again later. Press the yellow key ¢. Hold down the key on the remote control until the desired programmer number appears in the menu. Go on to step d.

You have already selected the TV~ system in step a for all channels.
Operation Switching TV on and off Press © on the front of your TV. A green lamp O lights up. pa1 appears briefly and possibly also the programmer name. Does a red damp & fight up? Then your TV is on standby. Read on. Standby With the standby key & at the 1op of the remote control you can temporarily switch the TV off. The lamp O on the TV lights up. Press the TV-key in order to turn the TV on again. if for a period of 10 minutes no aerial signal is received, then your set automatically switches to standby.

14 ° ° Pip Picture in Picture Picture In Picture For TV sets with the Picture in Picture option. With pip, picture in picture, you can call up a little screen within the main TV screen. Thus at the same time you can watch a programmer from other connected equipment. The picture in the small screen has no sound. Switching pip on and off Press (. The pip screen appears and the image is the same as in the main screen. The name of the pip programmer appears briefly on the main screen.
Switching screens Press (3. The main screen and the pip screen exchange places . If the TV channel is only in the pip screen and not in the main screen, then use the pip keys in order to change our TV channel in the pip screen . Still Picture Press (M. The picture in the pip screen stands still . Even when pip is not switched on, the main screen will appear as a still picture in the pip screen . Press (3 again or select another channel in the pip screen in order to cancel the stile picture .
Teletext = 06 [mammary 28 [Immense Switching Teletext On and Off Most TV channels broadcast Information via teletext. Each channel which broadcasts teletext transmits a page with information on how to use its teletext system. Look for the teletext page with the index {usually page 100). TV programmed are sometimes subtitled for the hard of hearing. Depending on the TV channel, teletext is transmitted In different systems: WST, TOP, FLOG.
o ° oo Operation _j Special teletext functions Hold A selected page number sometimes contains automatically rotated sub pages. The total number of sub pages and the sub page displayed are indicated on the screen. For example: 1/4. Crass £ in order to hold a sub page. I appears in the information line. The information in this sub page is not being updated by the teletext editorial office. Press & again. The sub pages rotate again.

Press Install on the control panel on the TV, TELETEXT PAGE MEMORY appears. A white bar, the cursor, appears on the first line of the list. Hold the green key b pressed down until the white bar appears on the first free line of the List, The programmer number of the selected TV channel appears.
Peripheral Equipment _] ‘ Peripheral Equipment There is a wide range of electronic equipment that can be connected to your TV, This connection diagram shows where the different equipment should be connected. You will find mare information about connecting and operating the various equipment in the following pages.
a. b. o Connecting Connecting your video recorder and other electronic equipment with only an aerial cable Unplug the aerial pig from your TV and insert it into the aerial input "W of your equipment. CABLE Connect the aerial plug supplied to the output of your equipment and to the aerial input "I* of your TV. See line [Z]. Switch on your equipment. Now lank for the test signal of your equipment on your TV. @ Check in the handbook of the particular equipment to see what the test signal looks like.

Recording with your video recorder Recording a TV programmer only using an aerial cable Select the programmer number on your video recorder.
24 @ b Tips Poor Picture Have you selected the correct TV system? is your TV set or house aerial located too close to loudspeakers, non-earthed audio equipment or neon lights, etc.? Mountains or high buildings can cause double pictures or ghost images, Sometimes you can improve the picture quality by changing the direction of the outside aerial. Is the picture unrecognizable? Check if you have entered the correct frequency or adjust the frequency by fine tuning. See Installation, p. 4.
