1 Y BASIC CABLE/CABLE BOX CONNECTIONS our home’s signal input might come Cable/Cable Box Connection from a single (75 ohm) round cable, or a Converter Box supplied by your cable company. In any case, the connection to the TV is very easy. 1 2 If your Cable TV signal is a round cable (75 ohm) then you're ready to connect to the TV. If you have a Cable Converter Box: Connect the Cable TV signal to the Cable Signal IN(put) plug on the Converter. Connect the Cable TV cable to the 75Ω plug on the TV.
2 BASIC ANTENNA CONNECTIONS I f your home’s signal input comes from Antenna Connection an Internal or external antenna. Follow the steps below to connect it to the TV. Back of TV 1 2 If your Antenna signal is a round cable (75 ohm) then you're ready to connect to the TV. If your antenna has flat twin-lead wire (300 ohm), you need to attach the antenna wires to the screws on a 300 to 75 ohm adapter. Connect the Antenna TV Cable (or 300 to 75 ohm adapter) to the 75Ω plug on the TV.
3 BASIC TV AND REMOTE OPERATION 1 Press the POWER button to turn the TV ON. Note: Press any button on the front of the TV to turn it ON. 2 Press the VOLUME + button to increase the sound level, or the VOLUME – button to lower the sound level. Front of TV Pressing both buttons at the same time displays the on-screen menu. Once in the menu, use these button to make adjustments or selections. 3 Press the CHANNEL UP ▲ or DOWN ▼ button to select TV channels.
REMOTE BATTERIES 4 T o load the supplied batteries into the remote: 1 2 Remove the battery compartment lid on the back of the remote. 3 Reattach the battery lid. Place the batteries (2-AA) in the remote. Be sure the (+) and (-) ends of the batteries line up correctly (inside of case is marked.
5 F FRONT AUDIO/VIDEO INPUT CONNECTION or temporary connections like video cameras or gaming devices, the Audio/Video Input Jacks on the front of the TV cabinet allow quick and easy access. 6 REMOTE CONTROL BUTTON DESCRIPTIONS 1 - POWER button - Press the Power button to turn the TV on or off. 2 - QUADRA SURF Buttons - (Red, Green, Yellow, Blue) Store and surf up to 10 channels for each colored button. 3 - SMILEY Button - Press to add channels to the “Quadra Surf” lists. Works with all colored buttons. 11 - STATUS/EXIT Button - Press to display the current channel number. If the onscreen menu is displayed, press the Status/Exit button to remove it from the TV’s screen.

8 A HOW TO NAVIGATE THE ONSCREEN MENU MENU is nothing more than an onscreen list of features (or controls). These features can be adjusted, activated ro deactivated to your liking by following the screen prompts from each menu. 1 2 3 4 5 Press the MENU button on the remote control to show the onscreen menu. 6 Press the STATUS/EXIT button on the remote to clear the menu from the screen after an adjustment. Press the CURSOR UP or DOWN buttons on the remote to pick any of the onscreen menus.
9 Y THE INSTALL MENU CONTROLS our TV has several controls that help with the first-time setup. These controls are found in the INSTALL onscreen sub menu. 1 LANGUAGE CONTROL - This control can be set so the TV’s onscreen menu reads in English or Spanish. Install Language Tuner Mode Auto Program Channel Edit Language 2 TUNER MODE CONTROL This control changes the TV’s signal input to ANTENNA, CABLE or AUTO mode.
10 T THE INSTALL MENU CONTROLS (CONTINUED) hese controls are also found in the INSTALL onscreen sub menu. 3 AUTOPROGRAM CONTROL Your TV can set itself automatically for local area (or Cable TV) channels. This makes it easy for you to select only the TV stations in your area when the CHANNEL (+), (–) buttons are pressed. Make sure the antenna or cable signal connection has been completed before AUTO PROGRAM is activated.
11 T THE PICTURE MENU CONTROLS o adjust your TV picture controls, select a channel and use the Picture Menu Controls listed below: 1 BRIGHTNESS CONTROL Press the CURSOR RIGHT or LEFT buttons until darkest parts of the picture are as bright as you prefer. 2 COLOR CONTROL - Press the CURSOR RIGHT or LEFT buttons to add or eliminate color. 3 PICTURE CONTROL - Press the CURSOR RIGHT or LEFT buttons until lightest parts of the picture show good detail.
12 T THE PICTURE MENU CONTROLS (CONTINUED) he Picture Menu options also include two features that work invisibly to help produce the best picture quality when they are turned on. 1 2 DNR CONTROL - Press the CURSOR RIGHT or LEFT buttons to toggle the Dynamic Noise Reduction Control ON or OFF. This control clears up a picture that may appear “speckled” (or signal noise shown in the picture). CONTRAST + CONTROL Press the CURSOR RIGHT or LEFT buttons to toggle the control On or OFF.
13 THE SOUND MENU CONTROLS A djust your TV sound with the Sound Menu. Choose Treble Boost, Bass Boost, Balance, or AVL controls. 1 TREBLE BOOST CONTROL Press the CURSOR RIGHT or LEFT buttons to toggle this control ON or OFF. The TREBLE BOOST Control enhances high frequencies. 2 BASS BOOST CONTROL Press the CURSOR RIGHT or LEFT buttons to toggle this control ON or OFF. The BASS BOOST Control enhances the low frequencies.
14 T THE TIMER MENU CONTROLS he Timer controls allow you to use your TV as an alarm clock if set to turn itself on and off at a specific time. It also can be set to tune to a specific channel at a specific time. 1 TIME CONTROL - Enter the current time with the number buttons. Use the CURSOR RIGHT button to move to the AM/PM area and use the CURSOR RIGHT or LEFT buttons to toggle AM/PM.
15 UNDERSTANDING THE AUTOLOCK™ FEATURE T he AutoLock™ feature is an integrated circuit that receives and processes data sent by broadcasters, or other program providers, and content containing advisories. When programmed by the viewer, a TV with AutoLock™ responds to the content advisories and blocks program content that may be objectionable (such as offensive language, violence, sexual situations, etc.). This is a great feature to censor what children may watch.

18 A BLOCKING OR CLEARING ALL CHANNELS AT THE SAME TIME fter blocking specific channels there may come a time when you want to block or clear all the channels at the same time. 19 T BLOCK PROGRAMS BASED ON MOVIE RATINGS he AutoLock™ feature can block programming based on Movie Industry ratings. Once your access code has been entered, the AutoLock™ features are displayed on the screen: 1 Press the CURSOR UP or DOWN button to highlight the words MOVIE RATING. 2 Press the CURSOR RIGHT button to display MOVIE RATING options (G, PG, PG-13, R, NC17, or X). 3 Press the CURSOR UP or DOWN button to highlight any of the Movie Rating options.

21 A OTHER AUTOLOCK™ BLOCKING OPTIONS utoLock™ offers other blocking features as well. With these Blocking Options, censoring can be turned ON or OFF. Once your access code has been entered, AutoLock™ features are displayed on the screen: 1 Press the CURSOR UP or DOWN buttons until the words BLOCKING OPTIONS are highlighted. 2 Press the CURSOR RIGHT button to display the Blocking Options (BLOCKING, UNRATED, or NO RATING) menu. BLOCKING: Might be called the “master switch” for AutoLock™.
22 C USING THE CLOSED CAPTION CONTROL losed Captioning (CC) allows you to read the voice content of television programs on the TV screen. Designed to help the hearing impaired, this feature uses on-screen “text boxes” to show dialogue and conversations while the TV program is in progress. 1 Press the CC button on the remote to display the current Closed Caption setting. 2 Press the CC button repeatedly to choose from the four Closed Caption options (CC Off, CC 1, CC 2, CC Mute).
23 USING THE SLEEPTIMER CONTROL S et your TV to turn itself off automatically after a given amount of time. 1 2 Press the SLEEP button on the remote control and the SLEEP timer display appears on the screen. Press the SLEEP button repeatedly to pick the amount of time (15, 30, 45, 60, 90, 120, 180, or 240 minutes) before the TV turns itself off. 15 Min 15 Min An on-screen count down appears during the last minute before the TV shuts itself off.
24 W USING THE AUTOPICTURE™ CONTROL hether you’re watching a movie or a sporting event, your TV has automatic video control settings matched for your current program source or content. 1 2 Press the AUTO PICTURE button on the remote control. The current Auto Picture setting is displayed on the screen. Personal Press the AUTO PICTURE button repeatedly to select either PERSONAL, MOVIES, SPORTS, WEAK SIGNAL, or MULTI MEDIA picture settings.
25 T USING THE AUTOSOUND™ CONTROL he Auto Sound feature allows you to select between four different factory set sound options. 1 2 Press the AUTO SOUND button on the remote control. The current Auto Sound setting appears in the middle of the screen. Personal Press the AUTO SOUND button repeatedly to toggle between the four settings. (PERSONAL, THEATRE, MUSIC, or VOICE) Personal Note: Your settings for the Sound Menu Controls will become your PERSONAL settings.
26 T HOW TO USE THE QUADRASURF™ BUTTONS he QuadraSurf™ control allows you set up four different personal channel Surf lists using the colored buttons (on the remote control). Each colored button holds up to ten channels in its quick viewing list. 1 2 3 12 Select List! 12 Press the CHANNEL (+) or (–) buttons (or the NUMBER buttons) to select a channel to add to one of the SURF lists. 12 Press the SMILEY button on the remote control to ADD the channel to one of the SURF lists.
27 HOW TO USE THE QUADRASURF™ BUTTONS T he Quadra Surf buttons on your remote control allow you to store up to 10 channels per button (40 total). You can even program the A/V Input channels (AV1, AV2, SVHS, FRONT, etc.) for each button, making them a “source” button.
