1.1.2 Supported Profiles
The services supported by your Bluetooth CF Card are defined as “Profiles”. Available Profiles
include:
§ Generic Access
§ Service Discovery
§ Serial Port
§ LAN Access
§ Dial-Up Networking
§ Generic Object Exchange
§ Object Push
§ File Transfer
§ Synchronization
Without the need of any cables or wiring, you can:
q Transfer files
q Access Dial-up networks
q Connect to local area networks
q Perform an ActiveSync session
q Connect to serial ports
q Exchange PIM data
q Send or exchange business cards
The basic functions of the Bluetooth Neighborhood include:
§ Device Discovery
§ Service Discovery
§ Establishing links with remote devices
1.2 Installing the Software
This section contains instructions for installing the software required to use your new Bluetooth
Compact Flash Card on a Handheld PC.
1. Remove any accessory from your Handheld PC.
2. Place the Handheld PC in its cradle and make an ActiveSync connection to your desktop or
notebook computer.
3. Insert the Bluetooth Compact Flash Card installation CD into the CD tray of your desktop or
notebook computer.
4. From the Windows Start menu on your base computer, select start --> Run, and type in x:
Setup.exe (where x equals the letter of the CD-ROM drive) or browse to the Setup.exe file,
then click OK.
5. Follow the on-screen instructions.
§ If you are prompted to uninstall files, follow the on-screen instructions. Once the
uninstall is finished, begin again with step number one of this procedure.
