Utility stitches and practical sewing
Elastic stitch
Because of its high elasticity, this stitch can
be used for sewing elastic on swimwear,
skirts or lingerie.
• Markelasticandfabricinquarters.
• Pinelastictofabricatquarter
markings.
• Placefabricandelasticundersewing
foot.
• Stretchelastictotthefabric.Begin
sewing.
Note: When stretching elastic, make sure to
stretch from the front and back of the sewing
foot.

Stabilizing edges
With the rolled hem foot you can hem
blouses,silkscarvesandvalanceswith
ease,withouthavingtopre-ironthefabric
edges.Thehemmingpreventstheedges
from fraying and a clean, durable edge is
the result.
• Foldthebeginningofthefabricedge
overtwice(approx.2mm)
• Laythefoldedfabricedgeunderneath
the hemmer and sew a few stitches.
• Leavetheneedleinthefabric,raise
the presser foot and insert the fabric
into the rolled hem foot scroll.
• Lowerthepresserfootandguidethe
fabricevenlyintotherolledhemfoot.
Take care that the fabric does not run
under the right half of the presser foot.
Tip: On silk, Bastiste and chiffon fabrics,
the roll hem is particularly attractive with a
zigzag stitch
