1. Select stitch 46, 47 or 48 from Group 2-B
stitches to get the darning stitch. Change the
presser foot to the buttonhole foot "RP".
2. Baste the upper fabric and the reinforcement
fabric together. Select the width of the stitch
by using the stitch width button. Lower the
presser foot over the center of the tear.
Determine the desired length of the darning
then extend the button guide plate on the
buttonhole foot "RP" to the desired length.
3. The size of one darning stitch cycle is variable.
However, the maximum stitch length is 3.5cm
(1-1/8 inch) and the maximum stitch width is
8mm (5/16 inch).

4. Position the fabric so that the needle is 2mm
(1/16 inch) in front of the area to be darned,
and then lower the presser foot lever.
When lowering the presser foot, do
not push on the front of the presser foot,
otherwise the darning stitch will not be
sewn with the correct size.
