Ease
upper tension
somewhat.
Next,
follow
this
procedure:
Turn
fabric
wrong side
up.
Fold finished
edge
of
woolen
fabrics once
(Fig.
1),
other
thin fabrics
twice
(Fig.
2).
In
this
latter
case there
is no
need
to finish
the
edge.
It is
best to press
or
baste
the hem.
Guide the
work
evenly.
Set stitch
width
lever
A so that
needle
takes
left stitch
exactly
in the
folded
edge and
right
stitch
up
to or
over
the hem
edge. When
hem
is
finished,
stitches
will
not
be
visible on
top
side.
