The

hemmer

foot

is

indispensable

if

you

want

to

sew

a

uniform

hem.

You

can

hem

with

straight

or

zigzag

stitches,

depending

on

the

type

of

fabr’c

you

are

using.

Clip

off

the

corner

of

th

fabric

to

facilitate

insertion

into

the

hemmer

foot

curl.

Feed

fabric

so

that

the

raw

edge

is

in

line

with

the

left

edge

of

the

hemmer

foot.

If

you

feed

less,

the

fabric

will

not

be

folded

twice

and

the

raw

edge

will

show.

I

Avoid

ugly

ends

by

slowing

down

feeding.

To

do

this,

press

the

fabric

against

the

needle

plate

on

the

left

side

of

the

foot

before

you

come

to

the

end

of

the

hem.
