Regulating
the
Upper
Tension
Turn
tension
knob
right
to
inr.rease
tension
on
heavier
materials,
or
left,
to
ease
tension
on
lighter
fabrics.
The
upper
tension
is
so
designed
that
all
grades
of
tension,
from
loose
to
tight,
can
be
covered
with
one
complete
turn
of
the
tension
dial.
The
numbers
on
the
tension
dial
indicate
different
degrees
of
tension
and
are
helpful
in
restoring
a
specific
degree
of
tension.
Provided
both
threads
are
the
same
size,
the
thread
tension
need
hardly
be
adjusted.
For
ordinary
sewing,
the
upper
tension
should
be
set
on
about
5.
Your
upper
tension
has
a
third
tension
disc
for
two-needle
work.
Regulating
the
Lower
Tension
The
lower
tension
rarely
needs
adjusting,
except
for
special
sewing
jobs.
If
adjustment
is
requir
ed,
turn
the
small
knurled
screw
on
the
bobbin
case
with
the
tip
of
your
thumb
as
follows:
Turn
it
right
for
a
tighter
tension,
or
turn
it
left
for
a
looser
tension.
