Larger
holes can
be
patched
quickly.
Trim
away
the
ragged
edges
around
the
hole,
cutting exactly along
the
fabric yarns.

Cut
a
patch
about
1/3
inch
larger than
the
hole
and
place
it
under
the
hole, matching
its
grain
to
that
of
the
fabric.
Set
the
stitch length
control
on
“1”
and
the
stitch
width
control
in
the
middle
of
its
slot
and
stitch
along
the
edge
of
the
patch.
Set
the
stitch
length
control
on
“0.5”
and
the
stitch
width
control
at
the
extreme
left
of
its
slot
and sew
over
first
seam.
At
the
corners,
stop the
machines
with
the
needle
down
in
the
material
on
the
right
of
its
throw.
Then
turn
the
fabric
so
that
the
corners
are
stitched
twice
(see
ill.).
Trim
away
the
excess
material
on
the
wrong
side.
Elastic
materials
are
patched
in
the
same
manner.
Attach
ordinary
sewing
foot.
